When I first saw it I thought it would be scratchy. The moment I touched it I couldn't wait to try it - so smooth and soft. It stays cool all night, which is great. The cover can be easily removed and washed, which is also a plus. I am a side sleeper and have used a round log-shaped bolster pillow for years. I was happy to return that pillow to the couch and start using this specialty pillow. Its hour glass shape is taking some getting used to, but I like it. The length, which is shorter than the one I was using, is also taking some getting used to. When sleeping on my side the old one was long enough to to support my knees from quads to calf. This one I have to choose one placement or the other but not both. I've used it several nights and it's working though. Not waking up with as much pain in my back and hip. The only thing it's not good for is using it under both knees if I want to be on my back. Pick one knee or the other for support, but not both. It's not long enough and the hourglass shape makes it uncomfortable. I do like this pillow for sleeping on my side and am not going back to the bolster. Glad I ordered it and know I'll quickly figure out how to place it for the best results. UPDATE: After using this pillow for about 2 weeks, the hour glass shape is flattening out some so I can easily place this pillow from quads to calf. The top knee rests in the slight groove, but now it's very comfortable and easy to maneuver. Still best for side sleeping, but it's great for its intended purpose, and in the morning my back doesn't hurt nearly as much as it did without the pillow. Sciatica hasn't bothered me since the pillow started to conform to me.
