PlayStation 5 Standard (Slim)

Very happy with the console. I got a used- very good condition and it indeed is in very good condition, brand new even. Not a scratch on anything, just a bit of dust. Saw that they're increasing the prices on the console's so had to act fast and got it for a good price. Now for the long wait until GTA 6 haha, but Forza horizon 7 Is going to keep me busy till then :)

I’m 67 and I finally decided to upgrade from my PS4 to a PS5 and I absolutely love it it’s a very slim design is a little strange it comes with two plastic feet that you stick under it to balance it which is odd or you can balance upwards which I don’t recommend comes with a preload game which I’m enjoying the controller fits snug the only the thing I find annoying is the constant AI voice when you switch on pause or turn off overall I’m more than happy with it

The PlayStation 5 Slim has been a fantastic addition to my gaming setup. Coming from the standard PS4, the difference in performance is noticeable right away. Games load incredibly fast, and the visuals are stunning. I’ve been playing games like Demon’s Souls and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and the level of detail and smooth frame rates are impressive. The compact design of the Slim version is a big plus for me, as it fits much better in my entertainment centre compared to the larger original model. The new Dual Sense controller deserves special mention. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers genuinely add to the immersion in games, making even simple actions like firing a gun or walking through different terrains feel more realistic. Backwards compatibility is another huge benefit—I’ve been able to replay a lot of my old PS4 games without any issues. That being said, the storage space is still somewhat limited if you have a large digital library, so I had to consider upgrading the SSD. But overall, the PS5 Slim is a brilliant console, providing top-tier performance in a more compact form. Highly recommended for both new and returning PlayStation gamers.

Love my ps5, took me a while to save up and get it but was worth it. Had it for a year or so now. Don’t know what I’d do without it as ps4s are offline now.

I actually lost my appetite for gaming, until I finally retired my first gen PS4. I never felt the need to upgrade because I thought the graphics was realistic enough. I took advantage of the sale of the PS5, with the benefit of paying over 5 months. I’m glad I took the plunge for this offer, which turned out to only be available for two days! I’ve had this console for almost a year now(Nov 2024), but I play it every day. All I can say is that the graphics is outstanding and because I invested in a top spec tv, the ray tracing and running games at 60 and 120 fps is a game changer. I’m glad I bought the disc version, but tbh the convenience of buying games directly from the Sonys website makes all the difference in the world. You get faster loading times, less clutter and the ability to play games remotely without the worry of having the required game in the consoles disc drive. Although it comes with slightly more storage than the original PS5 (1Tb), the best games are huge in size, which will limit the amount of games you can play. To solve this issue, I suggest you get an NVMe M.2 expansion card. Because of the necessity to purchase storage that meets the PS5’s strict requirements, I recommend getting a very fast one, that exceeds the minimum speed specifications. I purchased the 2Tb Samsung 990 Pro with heatsink, then later installed an external WD_Black P10 6Tb Hdd to store my PS4 games on as well as a backup storage option for PS5 games. I think I should have bought a 6Tb external SSD, which would have improved the PS4 games loading times. Please note you cannot play PS5 games on external devices, including SSD’s or have two external drives at the same time, so choose your options wisely. In hindsight I actually wished I bought a 4Tb NVMe M2 SSD, because I’m already out of disk space with only 58 PS5 games on the internal storage and 101 games on the external HDD. I also have some backup PS5 games on the HDD and to top that off I have five physical PS5 games, as well as my collection of my favourite PS4 games that I still own. I’m guessing the reader is questioning why I have so many games? The reason is very simple, most PS5 games retail at £69.99, however the advantage of having bigger internal storage will become clear. Every month Sony will have sales for up to 80% off! This means you can pick up games for £13.99, and some games (usually PS4) for as little as £2.99. Think about that for a moment, you can have a huge collection, that doesn’t take up any additional space, the discs can’t get damaged or lost, and even if you choose to delete the game, it’s will always be available from Sony’s Servers, and the titles will still be displayed in your library. I always felt that the PS5 was too big and ugly. It was also only available in white and was waiting for the black model to come to market, but it never did. It’s grown on me and I actually think it looks beautiful. I have always stuck with the PlayStation from the beginning and I don’t think I will ever change. This is a great investment, which doubles up as a blue Ray player and can be used for all your family and friends. The speed of switching games is instant as well as the loading times. The Christmas holidays will keep everyone entertained, I guarantee that. Happy shopping.

I had been holding off, as I have a half decent PC and didn't think the graphics were that much better so what's the point? But this is actually so much better than PS4 that I wish I'd got one earlier. The controller is amazing. The way it vibrates seemingly in different parts of the controller and in totally different ways for different events is insane. The speaker on it is way better too, and it has a mic so you can chat without a headset. You can switch seamlessly between apps really well just like on PC. The only thing it is missing is a proper built in browser and the ability to picture-in-picture with two apps rather than just chat or screen sharing. But even being able to do that is more useful than I expected when on a big open world game with friends, or teaching someone how to play a game. The triggers are really good too. The haptic feedback essentially makes each trigger 2 buttons in one. They offer real resistance, and in different places on the trigger in different scenarios. They also vibrate. This adds a lot of atmosphere to games and allows one button to be used for aiming and firing. All the little things do add up to a massive worthwhile step up. The quality of games on the PS+ library has also increased a lot since I last used it.

As an older gentleman...my beloved PS4 has been pensioned off...and donated to a worthy cause. Today...I have been in full faff mode connecting my PS5 to my new Hisense TV Pro (i just love saying that)....I would fully recommend both products...delivery was great....packaging excellent and....give many hours of relief from old age and poverty....just bought my 1st PS5 game....very nice.
