How long does it stay cold?

It stays cold for quite some time.... much longer than you would need to leave it on you.

Do you leave the cover off when you freeze it?

Yes I leave the cover off. I actually put it back in the plastic bag it came in to keep it clean and not smell.

Does it have to be stored in the freezer? What if you aren't going to need it for a while like a month or two. Would it adversely affect the pack?

Yes, you need to store in the freezer. My freezer broke and while replacing it, I stored these on a shelf. I forgot about them until a month later when I needed one. The clay had dried out. It still freezes, but it is now lumpy and not flexible. :(

Has anyone else measured the product they received? The one that I just received is actually 11 1/2" not 12", and it is 20" long not 21" as advertised

I just measured mine and it’s 20.5 inches long by 11.5 inches wide. The company must be rounding up the actual numbers is all I can think of.
