I read some reviews that said the hook or latch was hard and at first it was confusing for me, so I thin the easiest way to figure that put is to practice how to release the bottom 2 latches before you try to attach the tv to the wall mount piece. It's very easy once you know how (I just kind of wiggled and pushed up). I am very happy with this mount it was easy to install and is very sturdy. With such a big tv it really makes a difference having your tv on the wall compared to a tv stand, I couldn't believe how much bigger our living room looks even though its a bigger tv just because it's on the wall.
