Powerful: TikTok made me buy it! A sizzling story set in the world of Powerless (The Powerless Trilogy)

POWERFUL - LAUREN ROBERTS If you are not sure about this book/series, what are you doing? I can tell you now this series is EVERYTHING. It warms your heart in ways I cannot fathom but also crumbles and smashes your itsy bitsy heart to pieces. But books am I right? Hahaha ✨fictional men✨ Enjoy 😘 I can’t deal with this book. Lauren Robert’s you have officially broke my heart all over again. I just cannot express how much I love this series. As a reader it’s nice to have characters that you can actually like, with Lauren Robert’s though, you can connect and feel with the characters. You fall in love with them. You route for them. I’ve never had a book/series like this. And I am so stumped that it’s not July yet because I want Reckless, like yesterday!! This is a Powerless Story through the eyes of our beloved Adena. She’s a seamstress who has stitched her and Paeydn a life in the slums. Adena stitches and creates clothing whilst Paedyn steals those ridiculously good sticky buns. Now if you’ve read Powerless like myself you already know what happens - I’m not gonna spoil it for you though if you haven’t. This novella is incredible and the character development for Makoto is sublime - I’d love to know if he’s a main character for Reckless, or will we get a novella from his POV? Lauren let us know please ;) This book literally tugs on my heart strings and I have to admit I did shed some tears. Makoto and Kai are putting out competition for all you lovely lot so step up your game ;) Powerless was a good story and I know it was left on a cliffhanger ish, on purpose but there was so much tension throughout the book that I was kinda sad we didn’t get our happy ending. However now that I’ve read Powerful, I completely understand why that book was left the way it was, and why the things happened the way they did. Also I’m pretty sure we got an extra chapter of Reckless in this novella am I right?? Because HELLO!! Honestly I cannot put together the words or even string a whole sentence together with the amount of love I have for this book. It has truly cured my reading slump because I was so sick of buying books and then DNFing them. Following Adena’s character is amazing, her POV is so bubbly and fun and very glass half full, looking on life. Like her situation is in lamens terms, she’s homeless. But she uses this to sew pretty clothes, indulge on sticky buns with her best friend and spends countless nights counting stars. Her character is simply lovely, she’s such a bundle of joy and I love how Robert’s has been able to perceive that character and really put it across to the reader. It’s not too descriptive but it’s not boring either, it’s just enough so you can really feel the connection with the character. Overall - 5 STARS! Unrelenting, unremitting, unapologetic romance. Perhaps a bit saccharine, but rendered poignant by the knowledge of how it will end.

This is a novella. Part of a fantasy series called 'Powerless..' Book one of which was 'Powerless'. This takes place at the same time as a lot of the events in that book. It focuses on a character called Adena. Who was involved in that novel. But was offscreen for a lot of it. So here's some of her backstory. And things she was doing during the Powerless story which that book didn't really get into. Thus I think you might find this a bit confusing if you've not read Powerless. If you have, then read on. This runs for two hundred and forty four pages. There's a double page spread at the front about the special abilities of people in the world of the story. Then a prologue. Which gives us some of Adena's backstory. Then it's into the main narrative. This does take a moment to settle down. Because the viewpoint jumps between chapters. From Adena in first person to another character. In first person. The story being about their relationship as certain things happen. Since the first chapter starts in the middle of things, it did take me a few pages to really get used to his this was written and what was going on. And to tell the two character voices apart. I soon did though. So stick with this and it becomes readable. The other thing to note about this is, of course, if you've read Powerless, you know exactly how this is going to end. So can this manage to come up with a story that will keep you involved? Yes. It's a very solid character story. It succeeds because it did make me feel invested in the relationship and what was going on. So I was so hooked on following on that I was paying complete attention to it. Rather than thinking about what would happen at the end. It's very readable. And you do care for the characters also, so it really does hook. I would say if you liked Powerless, then you really need to read this as well. Because it's nice extra detail. On so many levels. Spoilers for some. A good and memorable read. Glad we got this tale.

This novella takes place during the 1st book and added another dimension to the side characters were introduced to in the main trilogy. It was a good read and quite diverting. Favourite quotes include: She is an intoxicating sort of exhausting, like running until you’ve lost your breath but enjoying the feeling all the while. And I feel as though I’ve been sprinting for days. Even worse, I fear that I am, in fact, beginning to enjoy her. “You are the sweetest thing I have ever tasted.” Another brush of his knuckles. “And I doubt I’ve craved anything more.”

A lovely book to the duplex collection excellently priced. love the art work and the beautiful designed hard back covers of the book looks lovely with my collection, the book it self has a beautiful story which has me hooked and wanting to read more from the authors collection.

This book is a masterpiece , though it’s scarred me for life . Lauren I love you and your books with all of my heart but WHYYY WHYYYY did you have to traumatise me more😫🥹 Adena will always have a special place in my heart 🥰
