It charges with a type-C charger (included). We bought it a few months ago and have only had to charge it twice. We use it daily. Pros: There is an on/off switch that can help save battery life when you aren't using it. There is a light that turns on when it is on and time is set. It has light mode (blinking light with no sound) and sound mode. There is a "quick off" button on the top to silence the alarm. It has a silicone "case" around it that keeps it from slipping off of surfaces. My son learned how to set it himself, so if I say "12 minutes" he knows where that is on the timer. Easy to see the rainbow that shows how much time is left from across the room. Cons: My son has figured out how to change it to silent if he wants to trick me into extra time. Now I put it up where he can see it but not reach it when it is set.
