NeoLucida XL: a See-Through Camera Lucida Drawing Tool

This is a little difficult to use, you still need some talent and a steady hand. But all in all, it works like it should. Just don't the idea this will make you an instant artist. Well built and sturdy.

Great concept but definitely not for everyone. I purchased primarily to teach my young children about drawing in perspective. They enjoy using it and the concept is being taught. Using it myself, there is a learning curve getting my hand to accurately trace along the mirrored image, but it is a fun to use tool. It definitely will not turn a person into a high-end artist (& in most cases even into a low-end artist) if you don’t already have an eye for drawing detail and proper shading techniques, so don’t quit your day jobs. If you have no clue how to draw, you will probably have a difficult time with this concept as well. If you’re looking to try a different technique to supplement (and in some cases improve upon) knowledge and skill you already have, this is a unique tool that could be beneficial. The product seems to be decent quality and was adequately packaged. I found it pretty easy to figure out how to assemble and use without reading the instructions.

What a huge disappointment. I have tried this using every imaginable lighting arrangement with only very poor results. The eyepiece is useless. Attempting to use it without the eyepiece requires jury-rigging it with tape to hold the parts in place. This is the "XL" model and yet, it has a very small field of vision and even then, if/when the subject and the drawing utensil have balanced presence the are both too transparent and not stationary. This product is not practical by any means.

Can work well when opserver and object are alighned,and object is well lighted. Larger size is definitely a plus.

This tool is more fun than I can say - it solves some longrunning issues with accurate detail copying in my work. If I want to make a nice clean final draft of one of my paintings, it is no longer a drear! YESSSSS Easy to use, but be sure to read all the instructions, put it down, then read them again. I missed one of the important direction points at first and was not getting the desired result I put it down - did other things and re-read it all - the directions are easy and not too long - and found the data that explained why I was having difficulty - I forgot to remove the brightlight shade, discretely and artfully included in the basic design. So it was like trying to drive with the car in "park" mode. funny now.... I do wish your experience is as nice as mine so far! e

I had a really hard time using this. I added a desk lamp but just couldn't get a good view of the subject I wanted to draw. Tried stacking up books, moved the subject closer then farther but couldn't get a good view. The view opening is very small. It was easy to put together but it just didn't work for me. Returned it. Went back to my light box but it doesn't have the ability to shrink or enlarge. That's what I was hoping for with the NeoLucida.

A remarkable tool for art study and practice. The capacity to adjust it for nearly any position is great. My only bad criticism is that there is difficulty adjusting for relative depth to the work area. But I count that as MY issue, because I have an oddball desk setup.

It didn’t magnify enough for someone with poor vision and it made the drawing come out small. Good for beginners but definitely not worth the price. Feels to cheap and the lens wasn’t clear for how expensive it was.

Sirve bastante para hacer catálogos de piezas, como para Exteriores, si el día está nublado ni lo saques ya qué no ves nada pero en un día soleado se ven todos los detalles del edificio qué quieres dibujar

I purchased it as a Xmas gift. My wife was hugely disappointed. It did not live up to her expectations at all.

Funktioniert gut mit ein bisschen Übung und hilft Größenverhältnisse und Fluchten besser zu erfassen und eine Vorskizze zu erstellen.

Tycker den ger skarp och bra bild. Önskar bara att den skulle kunna ge en större bild för större tavlor. Men annars nöjd.
