What is continuous peak output in amps?

Not sure, have not tested for this. However I assume it will put out the 720 watts... Amps will very on voltage applied

Most definetly, I order this same dimmer module to dim the underwater lights in my boat. It works quite well.

Can the input and output grounds be tied together? i would like to use a common ground to run an led light bar on the truck.

I do not know. I use it in a studio news set that is made of wood, so I do not have a metal frame. I would not tie the grounds together. The vendor is making separate grounds available, there is a reason.
