Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Mini Shoulder Bag

Took this travel purse to France recently and believe it may be a perfect purse! It is lightweight with numerous zippered exterior pockets and well organized interior spots for keys, credit cards, money, passports, glasses, lipstick, etc without being bulky if you plan it correctly. I am an experienced traveler who has tried many purses and travel bags. This for me has proven to be just the right size, with just the right theft preventing items built in, with just the right strap for lengthening or shortening for any body type. It is simple in style, hugs the body, is easy for the owner to use, but would be off putting to a thief assuming the wearer is a conscientious traveler. Highly recommend this great travel purse!

I bought this for my daughters a gift. It is very useful, especially if traveling or walking in city. I’ve purchased it twice before for international travels, it’s perfect for me. Plenty of pockets. Attached clips secure zippers, I wear it cross body. I love the safety strap. It helped greatly with peace of mind as I walked the streets of Greece and Italy. It’s a nice size, not too big or small, and sturdy, good quality. Great gift for a traveler and style is pretty simple.

I ordered both the purple and the berry pink with tulips. Trying to decide which to keep. I love the berry pink color with the tulips on it, it truly is unique. The purple is a nice deep color and will match a lot of outfits. Decisions, decisions! Which to keep? I have another Travelon purse that I have used for a year and have compared it to these for size. I thought you might like to see the size and compare the two different models. In the photos I have put them next to each other, also next to the other model and also included measurements and put one on top of the other. You have a lot to consider. My prior one is the Travelon Anti-Theft Signature Quilted Slim Pouch in Ocean blue. I ordered it a year ago. I have loved it and taken on lots of trips, and actually use it as my daily bag. The purple and pink purses are bigger. With multiple zippers and pockets, including RFID slide pockets inside. Know that it does not hold a water bottle but you could clip one to it. I typically also hang a little pouch of hand sanitizer on the outside of the purse to keep handy. One thing I love about the blue one I've had for a year is that I can easily fit it in the zipper pouch pocket of my LL Bean pullover when boarding a plane so it does not count as a personal item. This newer style purse is too big for that, as it would never fit in a pocket. You can wear this on your shoulder or as a crossbody. It has the locking zipper on the top opening. The nylon fabric is water repellent. It is lightweight and I think will be perfect for travel. With the additional size I will be able to fit in my portable charger, passport, id, credit cards, tissues, masks if needed, lip gloss, a pen and other small items. It of course has the attached little light inside. And with a bright color, I would easily see if someone is attempting to slide their hand into it. Either color also would look lovely in photos as I travel. I love Travelon brand purses and end up using them as a daily purse for my run around town life. I like that I do not have to choose boring black at all times. I do not think this screams tourist. Nor is it frumpy. Life is short, buy the purse you love and that makes you smile. I am looking forward to a few upcoming trips, domestic and international and this style purse is perfect. I caught these when they were on sale, which Travelon or Amazon seems to do periodically making it a great buy. I hope this helps you decide.

I got this purse to use in Italy. I'd initially bought a larger one, which, when filled, was way too heavy. The larger bag itself was heavy and I overpacked it. Before going I tried out each bag for a week. The first one was uncomfortable just going to the grocery. (I put in it a pair of mini binoculars, a small camera, my wallet, my sunglasses, my checkbook, a small makeup bag with powder and lipstick and a coin purse and my smartphone). When I switched to this one, I could not fit the checkbook and sunglasses -- but realized I would not be bringing the checkbook overseas and so the newer size was fine -- without the checkbook, the sunglasses fit. I put the binoculars and the camera in the zipper part under the flap. I kept tissues in the visible zipper part (bathrooms don't always have them -- seemed more of a problem in Rome than in Venice...). I also put 3x5 cards with notes and folded pages of the Rick Steves travel guides in that front zippered area (and in Venice, the tickets we used for the boats). The back of the bag also has a zippered pocket that rests against the body -- good for the powder and lipgloss or sunscreen. The top zipper has a loop that holds a mini flashlight -- nice when returning to our room with the hall lights on a timer. The top zipper has a clasp that locks on to the side. I put my sunglasses, phone, wallet and our passports in this main compartment along with the change purse. There are slots for credit cards in the purse but I did not use them. I liked having the added protection of the wallet being at the bottom of the purse. A few caveats: My wallet is a mini one... it holds 3 cards and ID. The change purse I used was a bit larger and had 3 compartments (a kiss lock bag). I used one for coins, one for dollars and one for euros. The bulk of our money I kept in a hidden waist belt bag (which I never showed in public -- if I needed more, I would excuse myself to the restroom and would transfer money). I kept the credit cards in RFD sleeves and our 4 passports were kept together in an RFD bag. Before leaving I made sure to latch the bag. I always wore it as a cross body bag, not a shoulder bag (though it could be worn that way). It felt more secure, especially in places like the Trevi fountain where it is wall-to-wall people. When we would eat, I generally left the bag on me. FYI -- if you use a smart phone do not set it out on the table like we do in the US. LOTS of tourists shared that people in their tour groups were getting phones taken that way. My phone was either in the locked part of the bag or in my hand when I was using it for directions or Tripadvisor. Wearing it all day, it did feel heavy. That said, it also felt secure. The chocolate color, while not the prettiest, is nondescript which is really what you want when traveling. You don't want it to catch the eye of a pickpocket. It is also a gender neutral color and so my husband and sons did not mind carrying it if I was taking pictures. It more resembled a camera bag or messenger bag than a purse (and they certainly preferred carrying it to the bright pink tote I also had with me (tote was used ONLY for a scarf, an umbrella, any postcards or trinkets we would buy -- things that if taken could be replaced).

Just received this purse after a lot of research. I wanted a smaller, lighter bag that I could use for a European trip. But I still needed storage for sun/glasses, Invisalign case/ phone/passport/CC wallet/lip balm/hand lotion. My ideal bag would be flat enough to slide in my carry-on luggage if needed.(airlines are getting strict about the1 carrry on and 1 personal item thing) When I opened my Amazon box I was surprised at the pretty color (midnight is a handsome blue with greenish tint) and it is indeed very slim. Bigger than I imagined but so well designed that it doesn't look bulky while wearing. Being able to lock the zipppers will be handy while moving through the airports or exploring towns. The slash resistant strap seems like it wouldn't slide of my shoulder if I want to wear it as a regular shoulder purse (my beloved Baggalini does). There are enough pockets but not too many to where I would forget what's where. And the nifty little light on a cord helps to see in your bag while in the dark (overnight in the plane!). So far I'm very much looking forward to using this cool and cute bag on our trip(s)

Planning to travel and wanted a secure purse with locks. I have been using it for one month now just to see if all of my things would fit. Just love all the pockets inside the main zippered compartment (lock) It is very deep inside to hold up my sunglasses, kleenex, lip balm, small note pad, pen, etc. The small zipper (no lock) I put my car keys in. The back side pocket (no lock) keeps my iPhone16 and has a lot more room. The flap side has a hidden zipper (lock) pocket that holds my wallet and passport perfectly. Easy to clean by wiping off any items. Best purse I have every purchased in 40 years of traveling.

I love the deep purple ( it will go with everything being a deep purple!)!! It has the protection and organized compartments I will need traveling or taking on any outing. It is great of quality & of light weight! So happy I purchased this a classy purse!! It is a perfect size and of good value!!

This anti-theft durable (but looks nice) travel bag is exactly what I was looking for. Such a smart design, holds a lot but at the same time isn't too big, and even though it's made from durable moisture resistant tough material it looks nice. A very classic style. I like to use a small backpack during travel but wanted something more secure. Everything I looked at was either too small, too large, or used too much velcro - and then I found this travel purse/bag and based on previous reviews decided to give it a try. Perfect size, secure zippers, no velcro. Smart choice! SIZE: Just the right size. Easily holds my phone (iPhone 13ProMax), glasses case, passport, small wallet, keys, sunscreen/travel items. I like to use small zipper bags for organization and these fit inside perfectly as well. SECURITY: The bag has 4 exterior zippers. The main compartment zipper secures with a metal clasp to a metal ring. The same for a front compartment zipper that is also under a snap closure flap. There's an interior metal clasp on a short nylon cord. The interior card/ID pockets are snug and secure. DESIGN: Good security measures - no bag is fool proof but this has zipper clasps and the overall design itself is a deterrent. There's two outside zipper pockets, unsecured, but one is always on the side next to me so I'm not too concerned. The shoulder straps are wide, very tough and durable material, and attached on one side by a sturdy metal clasp. There's strong slide adjustments to use when changing the length the straps. On the its smallest loop the bag fits over my shoulder and tucked under my arm. Extended I can make it any length cross body I prefer. The material is a very tough nylon. COLOR: Good selection of colors. For an upcoming trip I wanted something neutral but also pretty so I chose the green Spruce. It's very pretty and I love it for day to day, too. I'm wondering though if the Midnight color might be more understated and go with everything while traveling.

I always put my wallet in my purse anyway, so why not ditch the wallet and put all the cards in the card pockets? It has lots of pockets for essentials like keys, phone, zip area for cash, but slim/compact enought that I can't try to jam everything I own into it so remains lightweight. I like the security measures, can never be too safe these days. I liked it so much I ordered the small cross body bag (only large enough for the essentials) and the saddle bag that were on sale. I also like that there's no ornate nonsense on the bags that catches the eye, less of a target for theft if they look kinda boring.

This is a great little bag with enough pockets to hold a remarkable amount of stuff. The black version passes as an acceptable manbag and the locking clasps on the zips are fiddly enough that I felt confident that it would dissuade most pickpockets from trying. The bag is still vulnerable to being snatched off your shoulder, but you can actually use the locking clasp to attach it to a trouser belt loop if you're that concerned. However, that's less likely anyway given the anti-slash protection. I spent a week with this in March in Barcelona (pickpocket capital of the world, supposedly) and as far as I'm aware nobody even tried. I paired this with my walking trousers that have zippable pockets as this provided quicker access to my phone and small change. The card holders in the bag can eliminate the need for a wallet, mine spent the whole week in the hotel room safe. I also had two small cameras, the rest of my cash, Metro passes and lots of misc leaflets and other stuff you pick up while touristing. When we needed bigger low-value items (e.g. coats, water etc), these went in a rucksack. The bag is not cheap but it bought me peace of mind and was actually more useful than my other satchel bag.

I love this purse! It is lightweight, great quality and a fun colour (purple). I need a slightly smaller wallet, as I do find it occasionally difficult to get my wallet in and out of the purse. The little light on the inside is a terrific detail! I am considering the black version too. :)
