Moreover, it is a martial art that can be enjoyed by almost everyone who is physically fit, regardless of age, size or ability. This detailed book will be of value to all those interested in kickboxing; whether you simply want to train for fun or have higher goals, the techniques and drills in this book will be of enormous assistance to you. Topics covered: Explains how to warm up correctly to reduce the risk of injury. Discusses how to achieve improved flexibility. Shows how to develop the box [side] split and front split stretch. Considers basic punches and provides the associated training drills.Illustrates advanced hand techniques Review: kickboxing - Hi, this book is great, if like me you have done kickboxing in the past and just need a re-fresh on warm-up, stretching, and technique then this is a excellent book. I can't comment on weather or not it would be as good for a beginner, the information within is very clear and easy to understand, and fully illustrated. I would personally recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to start out kickboxing and doesn't want to go to a kickboxing class and feel like a fool who doesn't know enough. It will give you a good starting point, and lots of very useful information. Warning: If you are wanting to start kickboxing, I would suggest you go to a class, while the book describes all the stretching technique's its not as easy as it looks and a experienced instructor will be able to show and explain to you better. You can do serious damage if you don't know how to do the stretches correctly. I am super happy with this book it gets a big thumbs up from me, great product. Review: Grandsons review - epic book - Bought as a present for Grandson who has just started kick boxing. He was very pleased - epic book - his words

the book if GREAT! Very well detailed
This book is the most comprehensive and well detailed book I have ever seem about Kickboxing techniques. I would prefer to see the authors in Kickboxing shorts and shirt instead of a Taekwoondo suit, but apart from that, the book if GREAT! Very well detailed, very well shoot, the author clearly exemplifies the techniques and details every variation of each kick.

This book is reasonable to hone technique, however I don't thin nay book can truly teach you a martial art. I bought this to cement what I had been learning in class, and for that it is reasonable. The presentation of it however is pretty repetitive, and the photos are sometimes not on the same page as the technique being explained. I would recommend this to a student who is studying kickboxing at a gym, and wants a reference to look at when trying to perfect a certain technique, but even then, that is what your coach/sensei is for and should be happy to help you (otherwise look for a new gym!). this book should certainly not be purchased if you have no martial arts experience and are looking to learn kickboxing. If you sit in front of your punch bag with this, you will develop bad technique, which, unchecked, will be much harder to correct later on. Best recommendation? Get yourself to your local gym and get training. Find one with a good coach who ensures only good people train there, and learn from them. Good luck!
