When I bought my Hi-dow micro XP, the instructions were included.  It's actually very simple to use.  Plug in the charger for 30 minutes or so to be sure you have full charge.  The pads are in pairs, though you'll only really need one pair.  Be sure the skin where you plan to place the pads is clean and oil-free to insure good contact.  When you turn on the unit (slider switch on top, or same end as jacks for the pad sets) you'll have 20 minutes set on the time automatically.  The unit will shut off automatically, and if you want further massage, turn the switch off, then back on.  You can add time by pressing the button marked "T" on the lower right of the key pad.  Use the "M" button on the lower left to set the massage mode.  The mode will advance one place (eight possible) each time you press the button.  You'll actually have to try each to see which mode suits you best.  Last, press the upper right "arrow button" ONE time to advance the intensity of the massage pulse.  You'll know when it's enough.    If at any time the intensity is too great, just press the left "arrow button" to lower intensity of massage.  The center button is a "pause" mode, in case you need to stop the massage at any time.  Be sure to save the thin plastic covers to keep the sticky side of the massage pads from becoming dirty.  If they ever fail to stick, you can simply wash them with water, then blot on a lint-free towel, and you'll get the "sticky" back.  Be very careful not to let the sticky surface stick together, or you'll just have to throw the pads away and use a new set. Does this product come with chargers? the description says nothing about the the usb or wall adapter.

with the charger plugged in to the wall, will the device work?  or will the device only worked using the battery?   (Example:  battery is dead, can i just plug in the unit into the wall and it will work?)

The battery is built in, so you don't replace it. It has a USB connector, not unlike your cell phone, which you charge it either via your laptop or with the cord and plug that comes with the unit.
