Sharpener works great with a few minor drawbacks
The media could not be loaded. I give this sharpener 5 stars for putting a nice sharp point on my pencils, but I have to deduct a star for some minor issues which may or may not matter much to anyone other than me.Pros:- It does a great job on both regular #2 pencils and on my colored pencils. You will see in the pictures and video that I am able to easily get a good point. - Once you get the hang of it, the sharpener will also auto stop when the pencil is sharp. That is handy since you don't want to waste any lead in your expensive colored pencils.- The sharpener is small and compact for an electric sharpener.- It has a generous holding bin for its relatively small size and it is easy to open for emptying. It is not as easy to put back together so that is explained below as a con.Cons:- The cord is only 24" long and it does not use a standard USB cord so you cannot switch it out for a longer one if your outlet is far away.- It uses standard batteries instead of having a rechargeable battery like many comparable sharpeners.- It has 3 sharpness levels, but I cannot tell a difference between them. There are 3 pencils in one of my images. They were all brand new pencils and I sharpened one on each setting. Starting left to right the one on the left should have the finest point and the one on the right should have the thickest duller point. I cannot really see or feel much difference so that is a con if you want to have a shorter duller tip on your pencil (finer points are easier to break, especially on some brands of colored pencils).- I had some issues with the sharpener when I emptied it because the whole blade part lifts out when you open it. Even though I shook it good over the trash, shavings stuck to the little wheel in the bottom of the container. When you try to put it back together the shavings prevent the sharpener from snapping down onto the wheel. That must make some safety feature kick in because the sharpener will not run even though you got the lid closed. I had to take it back apart and brush it out and fiddle with it until I got enough of the powder and tiny pieces off that it would run again.Pencils Brands Tested:- Arrtx - Sharpened easily with a nice fine point. This is the brand I used in the pictures and video because I had some new pencils that had never been sharpened.- Prismacolor Premier - It sharpened them exactly like the Arrtx. The auto stop worked even on the softer wax of the Prismas. I sharpened several and did not experience any lead breakage while sharpening. If you want a shorter/duller point on your Prismas then this is not the sharpener for you because the dull setting still creates a relatively fine point. Personally, I generally like a finer point on my Prismas and luckily the result with this sharpener is good for me even though all 3 settings are the same.- Polychromos - It sharpened them exactly like the Arrtx. The auto stop worked fine even though the Polys have a harder lead.- Brutfuner Squares - Unfortunately this is a nope. The sharpener will not accept the square pencils.Despite those few cons listed, I am overall pretty impressed with this sharpener, especially the auto stop function which has not always worked very well for me on some comparable sharpeners. It gives me a nice point and does not eat up my pencils so I can put up with a few minor inconveniences like the short cord and fiddly process required to empty it.

Very nice sharpener!
I can't really say I expected to like this pencil sharpener so much, but it's really thoughtfully designed! It has a slider with 3 adjustments on the front so you can select how finely you want it to sharpen your pencil. You can power it with the included USB cable, or you can use 4 AA batteries for cordless opeation. Emptying it is a breeze- the top comes off when you squeeze the two tabs on either side, and they're very easy and comfortable to work. The only thing I would change on it is the USB connector- it uses a barrel plug to connect to the sharpener itself; a microUSB or USB-C connector would make it more universal and easier to replace the cable if it gets misplaced or you want a longer one. It did a great job of sharpening both my regular pencils, as well as my colored pencils, and I would recommend it for both.

Stopped working after one time
I mustโve gotten the defective one. I plugged this in sharpened one pencil and went to sharpen another and it quit. I canโt get it to work no matter what I do. Itโs very frustrating because this looks like such a nice pencil sharpener. It was hoping, it would be the product I needed but unfortunately it does not work for me.

Surprisingly powerful sharpener--MUST BUY!
Honestly, one of the best pencil sharpeners I have ever owned. I have bought many over the years. This is the best. It sharpened all the pencils and colored pencils to a nice even point. No half sharpened pencils where the wood is still on one side of the graphite. The sharpener uses either 4-AA batteries (not included) or can be charged via a USB cord (included). The top comes off easily to empty the catch bin, simply squeeze the two buttons on opposite sides. It also has a switch to change between a fine tip or a more wide tip. The wide tip is recommended for colored pencils and fine for regular pencils, but I found the wide tip to be just as good for regular pencils as well. It is just as noisy as a regular electric pencil sharpener, but I would buy a bunch of these for an office or classroom, they are that good!

easy to use, quickly sharpens!
This is a terrific sharpener, it sharpened my pencils quite smoothly. I tried this on both usb and batteries - it seemed slower and less powerful on usb as I had it on a hub attached to my computer (maybe a wall adapter plug would have gotten better results). On batteries, it was smooth as butter, zippity zip and the pencil was ready! It stopped sharpening when the pencil lead reached a good point so it didn't eat up my pencils. There are 3 settings (sharp, regular, and blunt) but I didn't notice a difference, they seemed to be the same to me. I only used one type of pencil to test this out as I don't have a variety at the moment to sharpen. Also, this was extremely well packaged, the product box was inside an external brown cardboard box so double protection for the sharpener! The only thing I would change about this sharpener would be to add a separate window for removing shavings. I didn't like that the only way to empty it was from the top as this moves the sharpener section off from the connecting spinny part inside when opening and when I put it back on sometimes there are bits of shavings sticking to it, I do wonder if the tiny pieces could cause a jam in the future. I'll update this review after several more months of usage.
