Streamline Clocks Monkey Alarm Clock

A lot of these reviews complain about the loudness of this alarm clock. But when your butt is on the line and you absolutely, positively, just have to get up in the morning. This alarm clock is for you. If you're a heavy sleeper, this alarm clock is for you. If you're hungover, this alarm clock is for you. Put it in the other room. It will wake you up. Bury it under all your pillows and it will haunt your dreams. The face on the clock will be etched in your mind and you will never oversleep again. I found this alarm clock in an apartment I moved into in Seattle. I assume that the original owners abandoned it after they discovered it's power. I allowed it to overpower me. I broke the original but discovered I could not wake up on time without it. And so I order this one as a replacement. You must understand the dark forces that are imbued in this device; before you purchase. This is not your cellphone. This is not a gentle digital beep. It is an entity reaching out from beyond our awakened dimension to rouse you from whatever slumber you imagined in your serene deep REM sleep. Give it time and you will never be the same again.

1. Box was beat up. Looks like it was sitting in a pile of stuff that were just thrown on top of it. 2. Speaker is not loud! Possibly could be old/defective. 3. No instructions. Not sure how to set the alarm for a.m or p.m. 4. One of the legs has rust on it. Definitely will return!

If a loud alarm is all you care about, this clock is for you! The alarm is loud enough to send my pets scrambling for cover and get me out of mine, but the "ticking" sound is so loud that I can hear it in adjacent rooms throughout the day. The clock may make it easier to get up, but also harder to fall asleep! Moreover, there is no snooze button, and the alarm on/off button is hard to find, grip and manipulate. That wouldn't be such a big deal, except the alarm is so loud and when one needs to turn it off, one really needs to turn it off! It's also very large- too large for what most people want on their bedside tables. But it is very cute, well made, and does exactly what it is supposed to do. If I had purchased locally, I would return it.

The alarm is SO annoying and it's hard to figure out how to set it correctly. But sure is cute! I just use it for decoration.

Very cute design in person. The monkey-shriek alarm was a little startling when we first tested it out. However, we'll probably only use it for telling time, not as an alarm clock. Another point to be aware of is that you can hear the second hand ticking. If that's something that will keep you awake at night I wouldn't recommend this clock.
