Anyone know what size potentiometer should be used on the input?

I used a 2k but it doesn’t really matter what value. When you use a potentiometer you are creating a voltage. If you were using it to convert a variable voltage you would use a two resistor voltage divider to lower the voltage into the rage of the board.

Great solution for input conditioning for a PLC with a 4-20mA input

I use this near an IR sensor to convert from a 0-10v signal that doesn't transmit well over a long cable to a 4-20mA signal that does. Easy to hook up and no adjustments needed. 'Bang for the buck' factor is quite high!

Gets the job done reliably

This unit gets the job done, and provides reliable and repeatable current output. I connected it to 12vdc supply, and 0.5v-4.5v variable input. With minor adjustment of the pots it delivers the 4.1-19.96mA output needed for my project, with that output reliable as I varied the power supply from 11 to 16v.
