It would probably work if your toes are naturally well separated, but mine aren't so I can't force a piece of fairly soft foam between them. So now I am more gentle and it has held up fine for the last 6 weeks of my recovery. In answer to the other reviewer complaining that he was unable to get any meaningful srubing pressure I have this to say. "It's a sponge on a stick... what do you expect ?"
