A great gaming monitor.
Didn't want to buy a 4k monitor to go with my new PC as I was quite happy with the resolution of my old 32" QHD monitor. However, I wanted a better refresh rate and more screen real estate and this monitor seemed to tick all the boxes. It's the same height as my old 32" monitor, just a lot wider. Nice bright, vibrant colours and no dead pixels. Quick screen response and you can adjust all of the monitor settings either with the small joystick on the back of the monitor or with an app on the Windows desktop. Has a good refresh rate (155Hz) and Freesync Premium which works fine with my Nvidia graphics card. The KVM facility is very basic but not a problem for me as I use an external KVM switch box. I've been using this monitor every day for several months now without any problems. A great value monitor and highly recommended.

The 401QR is a great value 2.35:1 Monitor
Size is the most important thing for me since I frequently watch TV/movies on the monitor from two or three metres away. And generally at this price point that means I have to compromise on quality. My previous Samsung was a 31" widescreen that produced terrible contrast and weak blacks (and also had terrible build quality). This is a larger, better screen for basically the same price, and I'm very happy with it. There are better visuals, even at this price point, but nothing that comes close to the quality/size ratio on this. I didn't want an ULTRA-ultrawide since 2.35:1 is the perfect ratio for movies and premium TV shows, nor did I want an OLED which isn't designed to be in use as long as my monitor is every day. I was slightly hesitant buying this because there are so few reviews of it online, but I've no regrets. I also have the PS5 hooked up to it and since it doesn't support ultrawide output the black bars at the side of the monitor are noticeable at first, but it's still a larger image than you'll get on almost any 21:9 monitor at this price, and since the monitor goes up to 144Hz, it can easily match the output of any console game. It's not a perfect monitor, but it's exactly what I wanted and you can't argue the value of it.

Good wide display
Decent quality display for the type, with an even display across the panel, loses a little consistency at the edges when viewed from the centre as you'd expect. Response times seem good, I never notice any issues when viewing videos, or playing games at the max refresh. Not noticed any display fatigue and the resolution is just right for clear text at the average viewing distance.

Avoid
Perfect for gaming with the really low response time and 144hz. The screen displays colours beautifully with really nice blacks and great contrast the only slightly negative thing us the monitor has no height adjustment. UPDATE Monitor failed after a week not received a refund

Lot of screen for the money.
Review score will change if it dies soon but initial impressions are 10/10. Seriously large screen, no dead pixels, I am used to a bit of IPS glow but this one is more than acceptable, colours look good enough without tweaking. I clamp everything at 120 FPS in Adrenaline to limit power so this has performance to spare. PC is Ryzen 7600 and RX 9070, only used with older games so far but FSR4 has just been added to a bunch of newer games so I'll use it when I need to.

Excellent upgrade from a 34” ultrawide, almost zero ghosting, great.
I upgraded to the MSI MAG 401QR from an AOC Gaming U34G3XM, and the difference is immediately noticeable. First off, the size: this monitor is roughly as tall as a 32" display, whereas my old AOC felt more like a 27" in height. That extra vertical space makes a big difference for productivity and immersion without being overwhelming. Ghosting is where this monitor really shines. The AOC had way more ghosting, especially noticeable in fast-moving scenes. On the MSI, ghosting is reduced to the point where I barely notice it at all, a huge win for gaming. I saw a lot of complaints online about PPI, but honestly, I find this screen more comfortable to use. Text and UI elements aren’t tiny, which makes reading easier during long sessions, but they’re also not comically large or “for bad eyesight.” It feels like a really nice balance. The monitor is loaded with features, and once properly set up, the colors look great. There are plenty of guides online to dial in the settings, and it’s worth spending a little time doing that. HDR has been excellent in most cases. Windows HDR can be a bit funky at times, but that seems like a Windows issue rather than the monitor itself, every other HDR use case I tried worked well. Refresh rate can go up to 155Hz, but I keep mine at the default 144Hz since the difference is negligible in real world use. Brightness is perfectly fine, and overall the build quality and performance feel premium. I also chose this over a 49" ultrawide because that would have been too wide for my desk and would’ve forced my PC to sit behind the monitor, which I didn’t want. This 40" size is the perfect middle ground. Overall, this monitor has been fantastic and a very worthwhile upgrade. Highly recommended if you’re considering moving up from a 34" ultrawide.

Msi 40inch ultra wide
Absolutely amazing screen, no dead pixels and I can't see any pixels at 60cm. The screen is great quality I can't fault it I'm going to have to turn down the brightness thou. Minus one star is because the stand is massive. I have built a 650mm wide table and this take half of it up and pushes it to far out from the wall, gonna have to buy a different mount because of it.

Value for money
Purchased to replace two 23" Apple monitors that were 16 years old. Using it with Logic Pro and very happy with it. Very good value for money.
