Graph mode allows for easy testing of automotive parasitic drain
This thing does everything that a multimeter should do. What sets the DMT-99 apart from other multimeters in its price range ($37 at the time of writing this review) is its digital display with the graph mode, which cycles after a little over 30 seconds, and makes it infinitely easier to diagnose those pesky intermittent parasitic drain that spikes for a second and then goes away for the next 2-3 minutes. Other multimeters in this price range lack this feature. I purchased this multimeter and combined it with a Lisle 64970 parasitic drain testing harness to test my vehicle for intermittent parasitic drain. The graph mode (shown as the "recording mode") made it a lot easier since I didn't have to keep my eyes glued to the display the entire time. It also has the ability to display minimum and maximum detected levels. The only downside is there isn't a way to scroll back to see older chart, but you can mark and save the displayed current/voltage. Fortunately, the level of parasitic drain I discovered is within the norm of a modern vehicle, but the graph mode made it extremely easy. NCV works great, and the beep is audible enough but not annoying. I was also impressed with the battery capacity. I fully charged the device and had this thing running in frigid temperature (30 to 40°F in the shade) for about 3-4 hours while performing the test, and the battery level meter only went down from a total of seven bars to six. In terms of size and weight, it's about average in its class. You can put it in your pocket, but you'll definitely notice it's in there. This multimeter is definitely worth the investment. It more than paid itself off after a single use. Even accounting for the Lisle 64970 harness, the combined cost of the two ($60) is vastly less than what mechanics charge for parasitic battery drain testing, which can range from anywhere from $120 to $200 depending on where you live.

Pro low voltage tech who's guilty pleasures is multimeters.
So. Where to begin. I broke two different flukes and I got a bit tired of shelling out $150 plus to buy a new one. Been doing this stuff for 20+ years and a meter is a daily tool. Got into a fling with aneng meters and those did not dissappoint. Got used to the auto function and with two adhesive magnet strips on the back, you can park them above the ceiling and still have both hands free. Would recommend those. Still. And then I found this one. Eh. Wow. The voltage over time read out is awesome. I can walk over to a request to exit button and walk back to the meter and it shows the voltage drop over time. That's.. well? Awesome. I dont need someone on the other end to tell me the voltage dropped. Its right there on the screen. The meter overall is as precise as one of the more expensive ones you can buy. First impressions tell me the whole thing is pretty sturdy and the leads are the same kind of quality you'd expect from a high dollar meter. The auto function works just as well as the aneng meters. Whatever you put on the leads is accurately displayed on the screen. VDC, VAC, resistance.. you name it. It is a bit slow to decide what it's looking at but that doesn't bother me. I get paid by the hour. The screen is the ultimate party trick. Whether above the ceiling in the dark or in bright sunlight. Always completely legible. Fluke should take notes when it comes to this. I also like the type C usb charger port. It charges fast and I can hook it into my vehicle charger all day. All in all. I've been in this business for quite a while. And I've probably put my hands on quite a few meters. This one truly stands out. The only thing missing is a magnet but I overcame that by using epoxy to glue a magdaddy magnet into the hanging hole. Done. For short. I don't know if it's the availability of newer IC's or cheaper screens, this is the one I'm gonna stick with for quite a while. No party tricks. Just a very useful companion for my day to day work. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Good quality for a better price.
For the price you pay, this is worth every penny. I do a lot of diagnosis and electronic repair in both automotive and small devices, and this multimeter has already paid for itself. Its very easy to use with its auto functions, and the leads that come with it are quite nice, its easy to see what it displays with its digital display, making using and reading values quite easy.

Nice little tester for the price!
Definitely impressed by this little meter - very clear display, accuracy is good, and the features it has for the price makes it a definite good buy. The packaging it came in made sure that it arrived in perfect condition. The manual is multilanguage, and covers the functions the meter has well enough. No experience on longevity as I just started using it, but it feels solid enough for this type of device. Only (very minor) items of note, it's actually a bit oversensitive - even when not connected but near to conductors, it shows some low fluctuating readings; Some of the functions are a bit buried in menus... and the last item is just more of personal preference... I'd prefer replaceable common batteries over a rechargeable internal battery. None of it is a deal breaker, though. Overall, a fine product.

My favorite multimeter, great customer support also
I personally found this to be the perfect all-around multimeter for my needs. The auto function is amazing and the screen is bright and clear. The kickstand and probe holders are a nice touch. Easy to disassemble in case you need to change either of the two fuses. The battery lasts a long time. I think this is the best multimeter for the price and features. There is a graphing function that does data plots over time, and I thought that was a cool use case which I haven't needed yet but glad to have. I wasn't asked to leave this review, but I did reach out to Fnirsi customer support for an issue and they were really helpful and resolved my issue quickly, so I am a big fan now. I have since purchased other Fnirsi products and have been really impressed with the user experience.

Punches Far Above Its Price Class — My New Favorite Bench and Field Multimeter
I bought the FNIRSI DMT-99 expecting a decent budget multimeter and instead received something that feels like it belongs in an entirely different price category. The first thing that stands out is the build quality. It feels solid, well put together, and far more refined than many meters costing significantly more. The large backlit display is bright, crisp, and incredibly easy to read from across the bench, and the 9999-count resolution provides plenty of precision for electronics work, troubleshooting, and general electrical tasks. The auto-ranging functionality is quick and intuitive, which makes jumping between measurements effortless. True RMS capability is a huge bonus at this price point and gives me confidence when measuring modern electronics and non-linear loads. Continuity testing is responsive, measurements are stable, and the overall user experience feels polished. The rechargeable battery is another feature I didn't realize I would appreciate so much until I had it. No more digging through drawers looking for a fresh 9V battery right when I need the meter most. USB charging simply makes sense in 2026. What really surprised me is how enjoyable this meter is to use. The interface is straightforward, the display provides a wealth of information without feeling cluttered, and everything about it gives the impression that FNIRSI spent time thinking about usability rather than simply chasing spec sheet numbers. Whether you're an engineering student, electronics hobbyist, maker, technician, or simply someone who wants a capable multimeter in the toolbox, the DMT-99 represents exceptional value. There are products that meet expectations, and there are products that make you wonder how they can possibly be selling for this price. The FNIRSI DMT-99 firmly belongs in the second category. Highly recommended.

Impressive little equipment
I like it. Being an electronic technician with over 30 years experience, I was sceptical at first but the feature included makes it the perfect tool even for beginners. Features like autorange and auto detection of volt, ohm, capacitor, diode and contunity makes it virtually unkreakeable. I also like the fact that it is rechargeable so I don't have to worry about changing the batteries every now and then, The only draw bach is the sockets for the probes are a bit tight so I can't fit some of the prober I already own. And no! I wasn't paid to write this review lol!
