Here is my experience. I have suffered from varying levels of chronic back pain with some of the most serious times triggered by stress. In my mind, that is the worse case scenario, suffering from stress and then my back would start killing me. That would be followed up with trips to the chiropractor and then finally most of the time the issue would settle down. So, the last event I decided to investigate "natural" alternatives and my chiropractor suggested I try out this inversion table, he said it has helped him.So I got it in the mail, very heavy box and given my back at the time had to gingerly move it to the spare room to set it up. The CD included is awesome and made the assembly very easy to do, completely taking my time with a very sore back, I had it together in about 30 minutes. Adjusting the table for your height an weight is important, take your time so that simple arm movements will allow you to completely control the inversion experience. Its based on the laws of gravity, so it works great. Next for me I had to go slow with the inversion for two reasons. One, my back was very tight and still in pain, and I'm not used to being inverted. So I started at about 20 degrees then moved to 30 degrees and I could feel a burning in my lower back, something was happening and I would repeat this 3-4 times a day for a short period of time each time. Then about 3 days into it my back was feeling better, seemed more aligned and I started increasing the inversion angle. Since then I have increased the inversion angle and the amount of time for the inversion 5-10 minutes and have had some of the most unbelievable "pops" in my vertebrae starting at about the middle of my back or higher all the way down to below my waist. My back feels sooo much better, I truly can't explain it other than my suggestion, if you are wondering about this product, buy it don't wait. :) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The re-injury was so painful that I was unable to control pain with pain ... *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2018* I never write product reviews, but in this case I want to help provide some insight for someone who may be on the fence about purchasing.In 2012, I had a herniated disc at L5-S1 that was hitting my nerve. I used pain killers for about 21 days, until I had a shot, which allowed me to be pain free until I reinjured myself on June 1, 2018 doing jiu-jitsu. The re-injury was so painful that I was unable to control pain with pain killers. The pain killers only got me to a point where I was barely functional, whereas in 2012, I was nearly fully functional on pain killers. I panicked because I was told it would take a month for me to be able to see any of the local back / spine doctors, and to make matters worse, my insurance company was being difficult about approving my MRI. I was researching stretches online and started reading about inversion tables, which lead me to Amazon. I tend to research something quite a bit before getting into it, and I really wanted to make sure there was some sort of science behind inverting. I did find that online, but in addition, it also seems fairly logical to me, a non-medical professional, that simply going upside down can get pressure off of your spine. I ordered this table and began using it immediately. The first few days, the pain was so severe that I am convinced that I had a disc injury and some other injury, which was aggravated by the table. I used the table for a few days, inverting to about 45 degrees for 1-2 mins, and then took a few days off because of the pain. At about 6 days out, I started using it again, and within a few days after that, my back got to about 80% pain relief and I totally was able to stop taking any pain killers. At a month out, I am over 90%. The only remaining symptom is a bit of tingling / weakness. I’ve now tried to place a lot of focus on proper hydration, and I’ve been inverting twice daily. The inversion is no longer painful, I go a little over 45 degrees and stay on until I am bored. The session when I wake up is always wild – I flex my upper back, around my lats, which frees up my lower back around L5-S1. I then move my hips in a rotating motion, kinda side to side, and I get a ton of cracking and then everything feels super loose. There are also handles on the side of the table that can help you do a more intense version of this, which I will eventually use, but I can’t because I also broke my ribs, so I can’t comment on how useful they are.A note about the quality of the product – it seems super high quality. There are a lot of products that you can feel the quality in the moment you touch it and this is one of them. People who have never had a disc injury before don’t understand how painful they are, and spending $300 to get a quality product that you’re going to use daily for life isn’t a huge investment considering getting a shot or surgery is going to cause you WAY more out of pocket expense, even with insurance. ### ⭐⭐ Would never purchase without Prime free return shipping *by W***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2018* Likes: seems sturdy and fairly easy to use for me (I am 6'5" muscles, for my Mom who is 5'4", not so easy) and setup/build was easy too (I have been in construction most of my life so, I have been building and asembling things for 30 odd years. May not be so straight forward or easy for average Joe/Joan) If you can build Ikea furniture, you should be able to build this thing.Dislikes:1) Packaging. I returnd the first one I ordered because of all the damage in shipping. This one has some of the same damage (see photo) that the first one had, and that I have seen on more than one review. Also, the whole thing is a bit lopsided. Can't tell of this is the bed or the suplort frame or both, and whether or nnot this was damaged in shipping or a welding manufacturing flaw.2) Function/Usability. I am 6'5" and my Mom is 5'4". While the height adjustment for the ankle clamps is fairly easy, the problem is with the 'Roller hinges'. There are three holes on the hinges and you choose which hole (position of hinge) based on height and weight of user. Mom needs position A, and I need position C. Unfortunately there is no way to change this without mostly dismantling the machine which is, at best, inconvenient, and not something Mom can do on her own.Also, any position short of full inversion (hanging free) puts a lot of pressure on the lower back, even with the lumbar support, and since lower back pain is what most people will be purchasing this for, I think that is a serious issue.There is one other issue. When I right myself from an inverted position, my back often screams at me, regardless of how careful I am. Not sure if this is a symtom of my back problem, or a problem with inversion in general.Summary: It's a well built machine but, it could stand some design improvments, and the poor/insufficient packaging really needs to be addressed by the company.
