John Singer Sargent’s approach to watercolour was unconventional. I've always been a fan of Sargent's, and for those of you out there who share my predilection, this book is a must. The fluidity and sparkle of his work are among its most attractive qualities, and these are on prominent display in his watercolours. Excellent collection of paintings
Sargents watercolours are unfathomably good and it's a pleasure to look at these large reproductions. Highly recommended for any watercolour fan.

Beautiful!
This is a lovely book, really nice think paper and fab colours. Well done in producing it, it’s a wonderful resource. There are a number of close-ups, so you easily see the (very few) brushstrokes - I love it.

heavy book
Interesting book with many photographs. I'm slightly concerned that the 'experts' who wrote it seem to have a poor understanding of watercolour painting technique, but that only affects the chapter on Sargent's methods. There's no real discussion of how Sargent relates to modern watercolours either (it is quite clear that his approach is quite different).

Beautiful book with great reproductions. Since I cannot see the exhibition in NYC this must be the next best thing. I guess the colors are not always perfectly printed but I know that it is very difficult to get close to the originals. I like the format and size of the reproductions, they are big. The only thing I regret is that the sizes of the originals are not printed under the reproduction but are in a list in the back of the book. Since I like to now the actual size of each watercolor while I'm looking at it, I find it ennoying to go check on another page all the time. I have a lot fo books by Sargent and read a lot about him. So I didn't read the text of this one yet.
