I can’t comment on long term, as I just installed it today. But at present it looks good and performs just as well as my old screen (before I broke it installing a new battery). I switched out the home button for the one from my old screen so I would have fingerprint ID. That went much better than expected. Placement of the new gasket that surrounds and seals the screen was awkward and the gasket could have been of better quality, but it worked. The kit comes with a few tools which are low quality, but since my new battery (different manufacturer) came with an excellent tool kit, I didn’t mind.Overall, a good value for money. If this is your first time opening an iPhone, I’d recommend watching several YouTube videos until you fully understand the process. Then watch the best one again. It is not an easy repair and mistakes can be costly. The screen will break if you pry too hard trying to remove it; some heat helps a lot with this process. And be sure to replace the tiny screws exactly in the holes they came from. They are different lengths and a mistake can damage the circuit board. A magnetic mat, such as the one provided in this kit, is a huge help.I probably spent more than it was worth repairing it, but in the end I got my old phone working again. This replacement screen allowed me to keep in in use, and for our middle school daughter to have a phone to use when she's on the school bus. In short, replacing the cracked screen kept a phone out of the landfill. It was easy to replace following online instructions. The important thing is to keep track of where the screws came from and to put them back in exactly the same place. I drew a diagram of the phone on a piece of scratch paper and put the screws in the corresponding place on the diagram. The seal around the edge of the opening is a little tricky, but you just need to take your time and make sure it lines up with the lip where the screen snaps in. It's optional, but it does give a bit more water protection.
