Cap for stove pipe
This cap is a little bigger than 6 inches. But it wasn’t a problem for me I put metal screws in it to hold it in place. Built very well stainless steel construction. Very satisfied with this cap

Top for underground shelter
This worked for an old underground shelter due to the adjustable snug fit!!!! Pipe opening was hard to find something to work after extreme high winds tore off old topping. After several attempts this worked! We did line the inside with fine wire mesh to keep mice out. Nothing like country living!

Sturdy all metal chimney cap with a nice finish
I ordered this chimney cap to use on an upcoming install of a wood burning stove. It feels sturdy in my hands with no deformation when I apply moderate force (due to a flange at the base and also around the top cap). It also has a nice, brushed metal finish on top, and a more polished or reflective finish on the sides. Mine did not come with screws, but the instructions mention the requirement for self-tapping screws at installation. There are three alignment holes located around the bottom perimeter. I measured mine, and it is 6.5 inches across on the inside. This matches the diagram in the sales picture. I was expecting 6 inches, but I have not purchased my other chimney pipe pieces yet, so I am expecting this will fit fine and is the right size. I am happy with this order. Recommended. UPDATE: If you have a large wood burning stove, make sure you consider the outlet area of the chimney cap. You do not want to inhibit the drafting of the stove with a chimney cap that is too small.

Didn’t work
This cap does not have enough breathing room to allow smoke to escape from the cap

The perfect fit
I will not live in a house without a woodstove. But I’m also too busy to shop around for houses or anything else, so I delegate that to my wife because she’s a stay at home mom. So when we closed on the house, I hadn’t even seen it. I asked her if there was a woodstove she says yeah. But then when I went to see the house for the first time when we got the keys and walked in there was a fireplace on a woodstove. She doesn’t understand the difference. Chimneys for fireplaces, hemorrhage, cool, and hot air depending on season that’s why I like woodstoves. There was no spark arrest here on the top. She said she was gonna grab a cab. I was too busy to shop myself. I was surprised the quality of this particular cap spot welds are good. And it slid on pretty easy. Final finishing touches that centerpiece. Seems low and I’ve had no trouble so far.

I wouldn't mind a bit more of an opening
I've been using wood burning stove Heat primarily for many years as I live in the mountains and this is how we do it here. In the past I have bought chimney caps with the half inch mesh screen, but I like the appearance of this one so I purchased it to replace the old one that was starting to fall apart. Seems to fit the pipe well with a nice stainless steel quality. Easy to install with a few screws. Seems to be priced just a bit High for the thickness of the metal. The stainless steel does look really nice and should hold up longer than normal galvanized steel. It is now summer so I haven't been able to use this cap much, but I can see it clogging a bit easier than the mesh screen because of the thicker sections of Steel between the holes. Other than me believing that it will perform a bit less because of the hole design it seems to be a well-made and nice cap.

This restricts flow by about 33%
While the build quality of this 6” chimney cap is good, the design is faulty. Whenever you are dealing with the flow of liquids or gasses, you always want to make sure each component that is used in the plumbing is not restricting flow, i.e., adding an unnecessary bottleneck into the system. With that in mind, a 6” dia. flue has a cross sectional area of 28.26 square Inches. This cap has 140 oval holes totaling 19.1 square inches, effectively restricting the flow by 1/3rd. To correct this, I removed three horizontal strands in each column, bringing the total open area to 26.3 square inches, much closer to the 28.26 square inches of the flue. Restricting airflow/draft in a wood heating flue system is a BIG no-no, so, you might want to shop elsewhere unless the manufacturer fixes this problem by increasing the area of the perforated section… unless you want to copy the mod I did. I started cutting with a Milwaukee M12 dremel tool, but shifted to Wiss aviation snips. Either way it turns this into flesh shredding concertina wire. With this mod, it will still keep birds from building nests in my flue.

Sturdy
For the fact that the diameter is 6 inches, it is still quite sturdy, with no wall flex. Stainless steel should last for a long time. The dish top is attached quite well and has no play in it. Despite being made of a decently thick metal, the cap does not weigh a lot. I would recommend this.
