I purchased them because I had an unknown long term leak from my dishwasher that caused about $15k in damage to my home. After the repairs, I needed some peace of mind. The detectors are small and seem to have great battery life. I have them near toilets and near my water heater, laundry. Under sinks. where there are high pressure water lines.
