In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1) When you think about your life and what you value, what would you put first? When you read God’s Word, are you doing so out of duty or out of a desire to delight in your Savior? When all we give Jesus is our leftovers, fear overwhelms our peace and worry clouds our vision. Gretchen Saffles knows what it’s like to struggle to put Jesus first daily. During a season of spiritual discouragement, she learned that pursuing God is ultimately not a self-help journey, but rather it’s a Spirit-led surrender. This discovery led her to a simple phrase that helped her reframe how she desired to spend her time, start her days, and shape her mindset: Word before World . This three-word statement has become her morning manifesto, her afternoon anthem, and her evening comfort. When she practiced looking first to Jesus, she realized that while God’s Word never changes, yet it always changes us. In Word before World you’ll discover ways to: Conquer the daily distractions that get in the way of time with God Develop a daily rhythm of seeking Jesus Set aside your phone, lists, and plans in order to seek direction and nourishment in God’s Word instead Transform your worldview, schedule, dreams, and desires to align with God’s purpose for your life. Cultivate a deep love for God in this 100-day devotional journey to experience God’s faithfulness and goodness. Put God’s Word before the distractions of this world, believing that he will meet your every need. Review: Excellent devotions that put Jesus first over self - I read several reviews before I purchased this book. Several writers expressed that there was very little Scripture in this book. There are lots of Scripture references in the book. I think that many folks are wanting the Scripture written out and explained. For best learning and retention, you need to look up the Scriptures, write them down, study them, look at the context in which they are used, and ask God for the wisdom to see how the Scripture can be used to renovate your heart and change you to be a more Godly person and disciple of Jesus. That said, this is an excellent book - both visually and Scripturally. You get out of a book what you put into it. You just cannot read and check it off a list if you expect a book to impact your life. You must think about what it is saying and how it may apply to your own life. This book has spoken to me in so many ways. I am often amazed that what I read in here corresponds to my other quiet time reads. For me, God speaks to me through the Scriptures I read and/or write and journal about and then oft times Gretchen's devotion for that day reinforces what I have just read in my Bible. Her prompts at the end of each day's read will cause you to stop, take a deep breath, and then consider your own life and how to react what she has written. For me, this is an ageless book. By that I mean that it is suitable for any age group - teen girls, young newly married women, women who are managing households with kids, single women, older women, any woman who wants a better understanding of what it means to put God first in every aspect of life. Review: Great book - Its a good devotional

Beautiful Devotional
This is a very beautiful, sturdy book. I love that it has extra space to journal after each devotional. I love the built in book mark too!

Perfect way to begin my day!
I'm about a quarter of the way through this devotional. I am SO grateful that I stumbled up on it, and Gretchen's page, on social media. I look forward to my quiet time each morning, and appreciate the many scriptual references each day that encourage me to keep my Bible open and dive in for actual application about what I'm reading. I feel like I'm sitting with a close friend, with my coffee in hand, each morning. Such a blessing!

Beautiful design just needs scripture to dig deeper into!
I enjoy Gretchen Saffles & Well Watered Women’s products. Have for years, even when she first began with Life Lived Beautifully. Her Bible tools and studies are always thoughtfully put together pointing to scripture & our Savior. I have to admit in this honest review, this devotional was a little disappointing for my own use. I didn’t see pictures of the inside pages so I wasn’t sure what to expect, I thought to post them here for others to see too. The art is beautiful as all her work is, but there isn’t much scripture references as others stated they saw in their reviews. What I mea by this is, no dive deeper scripture to point to that days reflection. Upon my own observation, I didn’t see scripture to dive deeper into, as you can see. Though it’s beautifully designed and the art always is beautiful, I only wish this devotional had the dig deeper scripture part for the reader to dwell in the Word along with the devotional read. This is my own personal preference and my own review on the product.

Encouraging, inspiring, with perfect everyday reminders
This little devotional has a special place in my heart. As part of my morning study time, I found this book to add just the touch of inspiration to encourage and teach in just the right measure. I feel like the author really 'gets' where I'm at, and I don't think you have to be at any certain place in your life to feel the same way. She speaks to various topics throughout the book... I'm almost done, and I'm kind of sad about that. Although... I think that is one of those books that would be a great read over and over again, getting something new out of it every time, especially if you refer to the scriptures she references as you go. If you are looking for a new book to go along with your Bible studying, I highly recommend this book, with no hesitation.
