MA-1 Blood Chit Bomber Flight Jacket - Fighter Pilot Flight Jacket

I used to have an MA-1 Jacket back in the 80's in the UK. This is the real deal, good quality jacket. This is not no cheaply made, thin, shiny material knock off you see around high street stores for $30. Sometimes the phrase, "you get what you pay for" is actually true. I opted to pay more to get a better quality made jacket and it is definitely worth the money. The stitching all over the jacket is a good quality and strong. I have pulled on some of the fabric by the stitching and it does not separate like some cheaply machine stitched jackets you see. The zippers are of a real solid metal construction. Double zipper on the front for when you reverse the jacket. The zipper teeth are also very solidly made, nice thick teeth. Even the buttons on the outside and inside pockets look decent quality metal, not plastic like you see on some. The material looks slightly dulled, so it does not look shiny and cheap.As for measurements. Me personally i typically wear a medium in jackets, t-shirts, sweaters etc. My actual measurement with a tape measure is 38 chest. I ordered a small because the sizing chart said it goes up to a 39.5 and it fit perfectly. I think it depends how you like to wear your jackets. For me the MA-1 jacket is not supposed to be worn like a baggy jacket. Most people would only be wanting to wear a t-shirt underneath due to it being so warm. So that is personal preference. I probably could have gotten away with the medium, but as i only wear a t-shirt under it, it fits well.

I love this jacket. It felt a little too puffy at first but it’s already starting to break in. Very comfortable, looks great, feels very well made, Strong zippers, good stitching, and the blood chit is a cool touch of military heritage. It’s warm without being too hot, and gets lots of compliments. It works with Casual clothes and at the office. I usually wear a 3XL t-shirt but after measuring myself against the Alpha Industries size chart it appeared that a 4X would be the correct size for me. This was spot on and the size is perfect.

My MA-1 arrived today. I am 5’10”, 145 lbs, 38” chest, medium build, everyday runner. I was apprehensive about ordering the small size, but there was no need to worry. It fits perfectly. No, there is not a lot of extra room in the chest and shoulder areas when zipped up, but with a MA-1 there shouldn’t be. The material and workmanship is first class. This thing will last for years. I should have ordered it a long time ago. Don’t settle for imitations. This is the real deal. Oh, and spend the extra ten dollars for the Blood Chit version. Definitely worth it.

better than i expected!

This jacket is AWESOME. Some of the reviews said the sizes run small, so I ordered an XL (I'm 5'-11", 210 lbs). I exchanged if for a L and the L fits perfectly! This jacket is top quality- excellent craftsmanship, durable, well designed, quality stitching, and BEEFY zippers! It's pretty friggin' warm, too. I wore it on a 40 degree morning the other day, and it was nice and comfy. I think it looks great, too! I got black and it was about $100; I think it's totally worth it! I thought the flag patch on the inside was going to be kind of cheesy, but it's actually pretty cool (you'd only see it if the jacket was worn inside out anyways, and I don't plan on doing that)...

I've owned a large for many years and it is a perfect fit. I'm 5'11" 175lbs. I recently purchased a replacement and it was way too big. These jackets don't have a sewn on size label which leads me to believe some of them are miss labeled on the throw away tags. I'll return it and try again. The best jacket I've ever owned.

High quality Flight jacket that looks super sharp, get alot of compliments on it. Great for cold temps in the 20s and 30s, too hot for temps above this. Looks and feels like the real deal.

I’ve always wanted a classic bomber jacket and I didn’t go wrong with this purchase! If you’re looking for a nice quality one, look no further cause is the best jacket you will find unless you go to something super high end. Fits as expected, looks great and is much warmer than I expected. Even at -5 C it is comfortable! Perfect for Canadian spring and fall it’s now my go to!
