From the manufacturer sram About us Founded in 1987 with a single product, Sram introduced the Grip Shift (or Twist Shift) shift lever to the road bike market in 1988. In 1991, this technology was adapted for mountain bikes and SRAM grew rapidly. The history of SRAM begins in early 1987 with founder Stan Day trained and participates in triathlon races. Stan was convinced that there was a better way to shift and found that the handle to the down tube for shifting was cumbersome and inefficient. "Why couldn't you attach the gear lever to the handlebar?" he asked. "You turn a handle and the gear changes. During a skiing trip in Colorado, Stan gave his presentation about shifting on the handlebars to a friend and brilliant engineer, Sam Patterson. Sam went back to his garage in San Diego and tinkered around. A few months it took, and in late spring a prototype for a twist grip switch emerged. Grip Shift was born. This significantly reduces chain noise, friction and wear on sprockets and chainrings. Thanks to the use of flatter tabs, the riveting and the entire construction are particularly stable. A hard chrome coating extends the life of the chain, while maintaining optimal performance. Sram Eagle X-Sync 30T Direct Mount Eagle technology allows for the smoothest, quietest, most durable and efficient switching groups we've ever built. The completely new design of the X-SYNC 2 chainrings is the direct result of the research of our engineers who have studied the performance and wear behaviour of thousands of X-SYNC chainrings. The longer, curved tooth shape works perfectly with the current Eagle chains and ensures better chain guidance and power transmission with less friction, noise and wear. I always buy these chains and can honestly say that I’ve never had a problem or an issue whatsoever. They last a good couple of thousand kilometres I would say depending on your riding.

I was tired of spending £45 on "ebike" chains and them only lasting 700/800 miles so I thought I try this much cheaper chain and my god am I glad I did!!! Gear changing is smoother, chain noise is less and there is barely any chain wear at 800 miles!! I cannot believe it but these chains last longer than ebike designed chains!!!! I'll be using these chains from now on for sure, I do a lot of hard riding and it hasn't let me down yet!
