Aqara Dual Relay Module T2, Requires a Neutral Line and Aqara Zigbee3.0 Hub

Great relay - it just works. The external antenna gives it connectivity far superior to other relays with just an internal antenna, which makes this relay a great choice for difficult locations. I am using one of these in a metal shed inside a grounded, metallic electrical box (antenna poking out of the box) and found no issues whatsoever.

I have used this great little relay to control gate openers (dry contact) and to power cycle 110 volt devices and it works great. The instructions provided with the product are not good but the Aqara website provides a lot more information and ideas of how to use this product. I use a 24 volt AC low voltage transformer to power the relay and the Aqara M2 hub. Overall this is a reliable product.

I needed the external antenna because I needed to mount a Zigbee switch inside a stainless steel enclosure near my pool. I ran the antenna outside the box into a chunk of 1/2" pvc for protection and it communicates very well. BUT there are some minor issues with the unit. I couldn't find a T1 with one port so I bought this for the same price. The instruction "booklet" has 80 pages in various languages that never really tell you much about the device! No wiring instruction. It mentions the button where you hold for 5 sec to reset and strangely "3 Times of Quick Press: Verification of Effective Communication Distance" (whatever that means?) Physically it seems well built (not as small as some switches) but the labeling on the connections is VERY dim. As is the tiny blue LED indicator. But overall I'm happy with the unit.

I was able bind a T2 relay to my Aqara g410 doorbell so that my mechanical chime ding-dongs when someone rings my doorbell. It was reasonably easy to set up and small enough to hide neatly behind my chime. My only (minor) complaint is that when adding my doorbell to HomeKit, the T2 relay is added (and unremovable) as a pair of switches. I've hidden the switches in a "dummy" room so it's at least out of sight for users of the Home app

I’m a smart home guy. Mainly, I use Apple Home as my choice for user interface and Aqara is awesome with Apple Home. I also love smart relays. I am a huge fan of Shelly relays, however, Shelly is not user friendly if tech isn’t your thing and for someone like my mother who lives by herself and occasionally forgets to close the garage door when she goes out of town. She needed an easy solution to make her dumb garage door opener smart. For way less money and zero subscription fees than buying something that a brand like chamberlain offers out of the box. This relay, was able to solve this problem and it works flawlessly. I only wish it existed before I replaced my garage door opener.

Sometimes a relay is the best or easiest way to set up an automation. In my case was used for ceiling fans. Works like a champ.

It worked pretty well with the hub I already had and the Aqara app is pretty good. My only problem was lack of enough documentation. I knew how to work with a relay in wet/dry mode but had difficulty figuring out how to power the relay. The manual doesn't specify what the DC power requirement is in dry mode and I wasn't able to make it work with a power supply. After reading forums ended up connecting it to 110v AC. A bit of headache wiring.

Update: I've been trying to work this device as a repeater as well as a communication bridge between Home Assistant and Aqara. So I have good news and bad news. Bad news first. -I've had this for a week or so and there has been no improvement in the signal quality between the water leak detector and the M2 hub. I've been working with Aqara support and have followed their directions, but the reported signal quality hasn't improved. Honestly I have no way of telling if this T2 Relay is actually repeating the water leak detector signal. The distance between the M2 hub and the water leak detector is about 20 feet with the T2 Relay in the middle. It does have to go through walls but it seems the distance really shouldn't be this challenging. -As for the communication bridge between Aqara and Home Assistant, that seems to work very well. Basically I don't use the relay to do anything but to be a 2 bit storage device that either HA or Aqara can toggle and then the other ecosystem can then read. So if the Aqara M2 hub detects a water leak, it can set one of the relay's ON and then HA can also alert us of a leak. It does seem like a round about way to do it but apparently it is easier to integrate the Aqara sensors in its own ecosystem. The Water Leak detectors are bit more finnicky. But it seems like others have gotten this to work only in HA, so I'll be looking into that if Aqara can help me make this work. Previous Post I bought this as a bridge between Aqara and Home Assistant. I have the water leak sensors paired with an Aqara M2 hub. I like that the M2 hub has different alerts and alarms, but no way to communicate to Home Assistant if there is a water leak. Enter the T2 module. As part of the automation when a leak is detected, I trigger one of the 2 channels on this device. This state can be read on home assistant and an action taken. Likewaise, If I hook up a Shelly device or even one of my own ESP8266 devices to the 2 Switch inputs, I can toggle the channels for Aqara automations to read. Until Aqara improves data sharing with HA, this is my solution and it works pretty good.

Produit impressionnant, et fonctionne bien pour une porte de garage. Il faut cependant utiliser un shortcut dans homekit pour définir un délais si la porte reste ouverte (afin de la fermer)

This product didn't work for my application but the company made it right. Totally change my opinion about them.

Instructions not very clear. But works very well. Will purchase another for HVAC fan.

Product came in an open box, possibly a returned item. Screws were all stripped out so could not use the original, found similar sized screws to make it work but the relay itself is not working reliably. Will be returning this and looking at an alternative or replacement. Aqara does make awesome products, pity the quality control is so poor.

I’ve used this product for a few home automation projects! It reliable and easy to program! Great value!
