This product works great.

I'd been collecting kitchen and yard scraps for six months in a 20 gal bin (with holes) and while I was getting some breakdown, I didn't think I was getting the results I should . Plus, the bin was starting to smell "off". After seeing a suggestion for using one of these aeration tools, I figured for the price it wouldn't hurt to try it. After aerating twice, the amount of heat being generated in my bin surprised me. The green and brown mix is definitely breaking down now and the bin already smells like "good dirt" again. If your compost bin/pile isn't performing like you think it should be, give an aerator a try!

WHERE has this garden tool been all my life??? Makes turning compost into a pleasant experience…almost fun! Minimal effort, maximum results! Hoping my compost bins will heat up faster! May be a great gift for my gardening friends!

Easiest way I’ve found to turnover a compost pile. My only complaint, on an otherwise well made device, is that the drilled hole for attaching the two pieces is too large for the included bolt. There is movement between the two sections regardless of how tight the bolt is.

While I can't say this would be my tool of choice for turning and aerating a compost pile, this tool works well for a smaller compost bin. It easily fits into the opening and makes turning and aeration easier. Great small garden tool!
