Understanding Divine Mercy

This is an outstanding little book. There are quite a few excerpts from St. Faustina's Diary that help explain the nature of Divine Mercy and how we are to exercise it in our lives. There is also biographical information about St. Faustina that shows that the information in her Diary is more than private revelation. The is also a lengthy section on the redemptive nature of suffering. The information about praying for those that have taken their lives in suicide surprised me (I'm one of those Catholics that had not realized that the Church had modified its teachings about suicide and no longer considered those that commit it automatically condemn their souls to Hell). Fr. Alar has a very clear and concise writing style. He sprinkles a bit of humor where appropriate. I found this book to be excellent and hope that he continues writing more books for his "Explaining the Faith" series.

I wanted to know more about Divine Mercy. As I was reading this book, came to know more about the mass. ABCs, Divine Mercy. I want to give this understanding Divine Mercy as a gift to my friends. Recommend this book to buy and read the entire book.

I am delighted to understand in detail more about the catholic faith. What the various elements of the mass means and what is expected of us and what we can expect. Thank you - this has really made it come alive for me and when I have read the book I will read it again and again!
