Just program it. - Installed this with a Surpass Hobby 4500kv on my son’s XL-5 Slash. Went one tooth up from 16 to 17 tooth pinion. Seems to be good combo. Just program it, and set throttle position with the transmitter as there’s instruction to do that in the paperwork at the bottom of the page in the set up instructions. Pretty easy to follow, just read carefully and might take a few reads to make sure you’re doing right, but it’s only like 4 steps. It gets confusing if you go through it to quickly. If you don’t know the lingo in some of the parameters of the program card ($10 desertcart), just look it up on Google or Safari, it’ll explain, that’s what I did. It’s a safe guard so you’re not taking a shot in the dark and then wondering why something isn’t working right. I bought the 90 amp and it’s slower than the 60 amp it replaced. It’s a nice unit though, fan keeps it very cool, program card works great and is easy to use, but doesn’t really matter at the end of the day if it doesn’t perform.
