There are so many levels to engage with the book -- you can just carve and print scarves, towels, and totes -- no sewing. You can create custom textiles to sew. Actual patterns are tucked into a clever book pocket. I learned a lot just by reading the text. I also recently took a class with the author, Jen Hewett, and the techniques are improvisational and precise, and printing doesn't even take a lot of time to cleanup. Something to do in your apartment, when you need a feed your creative side.
