I have been running in the Saucony Guide for 13 years. Pros: -This shoe has the perfect amount of stability. It's not a maximal shoe but it's not a minimal shoe. It will do great on 3 mile runs and 5ks but it also won't let you down for marathon training or on race day. -It can be everything you need it to be, from a quick racer to a long run hero. -Always lasts with great cushion well over 400 miles. I've never had any part of the shoe give out before I feel like I need a new pair to get fresh cushion. -The pricepoints you can find on amazon are unbeatable. -There are so many great styles and colors, I can always find fun ones that I love -I think this is the perfect all around shoe for the seasoned runner who is running for any purpose or any distance. If you are brand new to running you might try the companion shoe, the Saucony Ride, which has a little less cushion and will serve you great on shorter runs. But I don't think there's anything the Ride can do that the guide can't. -You won't regret buying this shoe.
