Can blindly go for it if your car needs it. - I bought this because i was experiencing pickup issues and mileage issues in my verna fluidic 1.6 crdi diesel. I experienced the same problem 6 months prior to this, however i cleaned my egr and it was solved. Now since my egr has just been cleaned 6 months back i wasnt about to do it again and instead decided to opt for this after I had done some research which stated this could be a possible solution to buildup of carbon deposits in fuel lines and on injectors which causes a drop in power. I looked into this liqui moly diesel purge as well as the iftex product but went with this even though it was 5x the cost almost as this is a branded product and should offer better safety to the car. Anyway i got the product and used it on a somewhat empty tank(3-5L). I poured approximately 1/3 the can into the tank and drove about 10 mins and filled up 10L of diesel. I then proceeded to drive roughly 50kms and could already feel a difference in the smoothness and mileage. After driving another 80-100 km i filled up again and this time poured another 1/3 or so into the tank. I drove this time 100+kms going on the highway to let it run at steady and low rpms and also takw it to higher revs to clean out and burn away any residual buildup in the lines. By this time i could feel a difference in pickup and the cars eagerness to pull was beginning to return. After driving till the tank was pretty much empty over the next few days, i could feel the power and mileage was back to its original if not even better. Engine was smoother and quieter, power was better than ever before and mileage was amazing. I even managed 26.6kmpl on the highway and couldve possible gotten more if i had the patience. Overall I’m really happy with this product thus far. If theres anything to update in the coming months then I will. Left with little option, I searched and researched and zeroed in on the Liqui Moly diesel purge. I poured 1/4th of the can when the tank was nearing empty and drove the car for 5 km till I reached the petrol pump. There I poured the entire can filled the tank with 25L of diesel and drove for 80km at regular speed. It worked wonders and it was hard for me to believe that all the issues that I had with the injector got sorted out. The choking, stuttering, and white smoke issues that I had with the car completely vanished and the car is smooth, engine noise has come down. Not sure about any change in the mileage, as I did not keep track of it. Well, I took a chance after doing some good quality research. Yes, this can be used on a BMW diesel engine cars or any other as such for that matter, but be mindful of what to do next. Okay, so I poured the entire CAN into the fuel tank, refueling in with over 30-40L diesel in. Drove my car on the highway for about 90-100 kms at a constant speed above 80kmph, letting the DPF regen kick in and such that the mixture throttles through the engine, the injectors. Result: Uff, have to say. Noted world of a difference after using this. There's far more refinement in the engine, smoother, leaner power delivery, throttle response, and better milage. Epic. This is absolutely a very good product. Tip: CHANGE the fuel filter after you utilize this product post your highway run and before refueling your car again. It's important that you do so. It's not required to carry out this purge process frequently. The process of Purge can be done every 30,000-40,000 kms. Be advised: DO NOT use any other additives to older BMW engines. They are not meant for anything else to go in. Purge is the only thing that's safe to use as far as it goes. As for more pro-tip: The thumb rule for diesel vehicles is the right oil change intervals, highway runs, paying attention to your cars behavior, and taking care of your vehicle. Hence do keep your car's intake manifold clean, do a frequent highway run for DPF regen, and engine oil, filters service intervals below every 10k kms.
