The torque on this thing is powerful and you must grip the coconut really well to grate it safely. I have tried both versions, the single speed and the multi speed one. In my opinion, a lower speed would have come in handy, especially when the coconut is too large to be gripped securely. This multi-speed model has 3 speed settings i.e. normal, fast and faster. The single speed model is capable of running only at normal speed. Ideally, I would have liked the multi-speed model to have the ability of choosing between slower, normal, and faster speeds compared to the single speed model.
