The energy monitoring is actually better than Samsungs switch that came with the hub. I don't think this unit is as well made as the Samsung socket, nor is the switch and LED indicator in the best place. On the Samsung socket, both are on the side, while this unit is on the bottom and out of view.This unit runs on z-wave and the Samsung socket runs on zigbee, so they don't communicate directly with each other, so the range extending function doesn't help with remote sensors of Samsungs. I bought the Aeotec Z-wave Mulitsensor 6, they IMO are the best once you have them up and running, which requires logging onto the web API on the website, developer section and changing it from a moisture sensor to the correct Multisensor 6. This socket help me reach these remote sensors and rely the signal perfectly. After installing one of these in the kitchen, the sensor in my garden has worked well. I bought a second because of this functionality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and easy, just worked straight out of the box *by S***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 November 2015* I brought one of these and one SmartThings Outlet to sync up with my SmartThings Hub. Straight out of the box had this up and running in less than 1 minute. Although slightly more expensive than the SmartThings Outlet, I most definitely prefer the Aeon Smart Switch as it has built in energy monitoring. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars First Class Device *by D***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 August 2016* These are excellent devices - really easy to add to SmartThings bridge.
