Hope this helps. **Q: Does this have a rubber bottom like the old one? I had one for around 20yrs and just had to bin it as the rubber perished on the bottom of the mop.** A: Yes but if it lasted 20 years you haven't got much to complain about!!! **Q: Can I use wet wipes with this mop?** A: Sorry, haven't tried wet wipes with the mop. I do find the dry Swiffer cloths do a great job of cleaning up though !! **Q: Can you use ordinary wipes? Or do you need to use special ones?** A: Dry cloth and wet wipes available to purchase separately: made to be used with this for it being created as a 2-in-1 item: surface sweeping broom as well as a mop. I find the deep ridges on the wet cloth very useful to pick up dirt, dust, hair & etc: function no more or no less than any other flat-headed mops. I assume you could use other type of wet cloth with this: such as Dettol surface wipes, Baby wet wipes & etc, for the moisture in them being what picks up the dirt and dust. Having said that, Swiffer wet mop cloths are trap and lock dirt deep in cloth. They are safe to use on all finished floors and have a scrubbing strip to remove tough spots. Well packaged and presented with excellent Amazon delivery. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GAMECHANGER *by B***R on 3 October 2020* I didn’t know what a ‘Swiffer’ was until a friend mentioned it. I thought it was her own word for some sort of mop. Having recently had a laminate ‘wood look’ floor laid and having a hairy dog, coal fire and a husband who ‘forgets’ to take off his shoes, I was looking for something to quickly and easily remove offending ‘debris’ on the floor. Well I wasn’t disappointed. It’s brilliant at picking up hairs, dust and other bits. It’s so lightweight, even my 3 year old granddaughter can handle it. It whizzes under and around furniture collecting everything as it goes. It’s not so good for larger bits like crumbs but I use my hand held vacuum for those. Also, as I now ‘swiff’ it around a few times a day, I’m getting through the pads a bit quickly. I have used one pad a couple of times but generally use a new one. (I’d be interested in how many times others use one pad) I’ve just ordered a refill pack of 198, so I’ll see how it goes. I have only used dry pads as I have a spray mop to give the floor a good clean.
