We've been using it sparingly because it has always been a little quirky. Recently, a rep from a local company that sells tire supplies gave me a free TS508 for buying 15 new Autel TPMS Sensors. The rep came in and set us up and updated the unit I got from him with the latest software and it is so much faster than the one I bought here on Amazon. Thinking that my unit just needed updating, I asked him to get it "up to snuff". As soon as he turned it on, he said, "...this is not real Autel TS508". He then proceeded to demonstrate why; the screen resolution was much less sharp than the real unit, it was slower (ah!), and it presented weird messages when he tried to update it.Autel has agreed to replace it free of charge. While I am sure Amazon does what it can to police what is sold as being original and verified items, I am sure knock offs get through from time to time. The TS508 I received was a really close copy...but when put against a real one, the physical differences are subtle but apparent. Even the tones that my "gray market" unit (that's what I am calling it) were different.I'd suggest you only buy units from official Autel resellers. Buyer beware. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Tool for TPMS Problems! *by R***0 on Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2018* Got this tool after being frustrated with TPMS problems and local shops not being proficient in programming TPMS sensors for different makes/models. Did not want to go to the dealer every time there was a TPMS issue on any of my vehicles and discussions with local tire shops left me convinced that some of the techs were not technically savvy in programming the sensors for various makes and models. Recently had to have a TPMS sensor replaced and the shop did the replacement no problem and only charged me $16. They stated the TPMS light would go out after a few miles of driving. I knew from past experience that my 2009 Forester requires the new ID number of the sensor to be programmed into the TPMS system in the car once the sensor is activated. So the TPMS light, of course, did not turn off on my drive home. I pulled out this tool and in only a few minutes, I programmed the new sensor ID number into the car's TPMS system and the TPMS warning light turned off. This tool will scan all the sensors and let you know if they are active, it will activate new sensors, it will diagnose the TPMS system, it will program the new sensor ID numbers into your car's TPMS system, and probably lots of other features I probably will not use. It was expensive, but now that TPMS is mandatory on all cars, I feel it is a good tool to have on hand. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy Single-Device OBDII Vehicle TPMS Reprogramming/Re-Learning + Sensor Activation/Code Reading for 2008 Mitsubishi LancerEvo X *by I***O on Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2018* I bought this MaxiTPMS TS508 Complete TPMS Tool to reprogram my 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X MR to accept a replacement OEM Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor that my tire dealer had installed.The MaxiTPMS TS508 was the least expensive, well-reviewed device that I could find that claimed to work with a 2008+ Mitsubishi Lancer and that handled both chores: Activating the sensor at the wheel and re-programming the car’s TPMS codes via the car’s OBDII port. It was incredibly easy to use: Multiple YouTube videos showed general usage, and the device, itself, provided written, step-by-step instructions on the screen as I followed the process.I’d already bought and had my tire shop install a Mitsubishi OEM sensor that I’d purchased at my local Mitsubishi dealer, so I needed a device that could activate any manufacturer’s sensor, read its code and reprogram my car with the code it had read. The TS508 did all that. Note that this model’s older cousin, the TS501, appears to perform this task just as readily as the TS508 for — potentially — a few dollars less. I bought the TS508 because I wanted the latest and greatest, as that’s how I roll. Autel touts the TS series TPMS tools’ ability to re-program Autel-brand TPMS sensors to match the codes of original equipment sensors they replace.
