I do chopped up vegetables and after adding water sprinkle a couple of vegetable cubes over it. Makes it very tasty. I use frozen vegs as well as have difficulty cutting up onions so get bags of frozen ones. It works and adds flavour. I would not be without mine. Best buy I have made in ages. Good luck with yours. **Q: Hi i bought this soup maker from you and it keeps stopping part wsy through only had for few months how do i go about sending back please?** A: It will stop if food gets burnt onto the bottom. This an overheat protection. When that happens, the cycle is completely aborted. The secret is to keep the bottom of the container very clean and to coat it with oil or molten butter before adding any ingredients. We were told this by a customer service person and it really makes all the difference. Pity it is not in the instructions, as it would save people a lot of disappointment with this product. **Q: Can it be used for making soy milk ?** A: According to their website, you can make all sorts of nut milks in these as long as you soak the nuts for about 2 hours first. Haven’t tried it, so can’t guarantee the results! Check the website, they even have recipes! **Q: Is there a liner available for this product to make it easier to clean? Food keeps getting stuck on bottom** A: I don’t believe there is any sort of liner for this soup maker. I also found food used to get stuck to the base. In the end I returned this item as it began to be a bit erratic in its operation. I spent quite a bit more on a Ninja soup maker which is brilliant and, because of the price, far superior to this one. I make a lot of soup so it was worth it for me. Can’t recommend the Ninja highly enough. Bought for my son who uses it weekly to make soup. Good quality. Good choice of consistency types for soup. Works very well and quick and easy to use. Would suit elderly parents as would make life easier for them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ So good, so far *by G***N on 4 November 2022* I've had this about 2-3 weeks and so far, so good. I used to make soup the old fashioned way, roast the veg, then boil for a bit and then blend, all told used to take about 2 hours (chopping and cooking). This has reduced that down to about half an hour. It cooks soup in about 20 minutes. The result is very tasty soup that is so easy to make. A few reviews have mentioned some problems with this unit 1) it powers off for no reason - I had this issue myself and I discovered that the unit was too full. When it blends the soup it vibrates quite a lot and this vibration lifted the lid off slightly and the two power connectors lost touch and the unit powered off. So now I don't try and stuff everything in and the issue hasn't arisen. 2) Burning on the bottom - I think this is caused by veg sticking to the bottom, even if the unit isn't on. Starchy/sugary veg can cause this. Put a small amount of water in the bottom, before you put the veg in and this helps a lot. I've burned it slightly, but it cleans off easy enough. The only issue I have is that it's too small, I should have gone for the larger one.
