Check it Out: Season 1 & 2 (DVD) Produced by John C. Reilly and Absolutely Productions, Check It Out Season 1 and 2 includes all 12 episodes that parody a local marketโs newsmagazine show starring Oscar-nominee John C. Reilly as Dr. Steve Brule. With each episode our host Dr. Brule introduces his audience to local celebrities and interesting things around town as well as providing health and lifestyle tips. Review: One of the best shows on adult swim! - I got this for my dad for xmas. My whole family watched it and loved it! We laughed so hard we cried! No matter how many times I see an episode it still makes me laugh out loud! John C. Reilly is amazing as always and downright hilarious as Dr. Steve Brule. Many of the characters and guests on the show are also a bit odd and add to the show's success (you'll recognize several of them from Tim & Eric). They are so believable you find yourself asking if they are really actors or even told it's not a real show. I wonder how much of the show is scripted and if any of it is improv. Their reactions to Dr. Brule are priceless! I highly recommend this DVD to anyone who likes alternative and surreal comedy. You won't be disappointed and it will put you in a good mood no matter how bad you're feeling! Check it out ya dingus, for your health! Review: It plays yes OK - This dvd is very playable and I like it a lot! Thank you yes

Hilarious and too short.
If you're into the Tim and Eric brand of humour then this fits right in with that world. A truly unique experience, very deserving of your attention.

Buy it....for your health!
John C. Reilly is the most versatile and talented actor in the last 30 years. This just shows another side of him even though Dr. Steve Brule is not him...JCR is just executive producer. ;) Funny, brash, surreal, heartfelt, and beneficial to your health and the way you live, as far as this dvd is concerned you should, "Check it Out"!

This is magical
While it can be cringe at times, and is a bit of a train wreck overall, the show delivers some of the weirdest, most awkward and hilarious comedy I've seen in awhile. A great one to watch while viking, time flies by and you get some good laughs and feel a bit dumber at the end. Go get it!

What did we learn today?
Sick . Twisted. HILARIOUS! Not for everyone. I mean, the image of John C. Reilly in his underpants is NOT for the faint of heart (or those who lack a sense of humor, as well as a strong stomach). But this cracks me up! I'm so glad I found this "show", independent of the Tim and Eric thingie (which I used to watch just for "Check It Out!"). "The Farmer in the Dell".... Hahaha!! And his asinine preoccupation with "hunks".... you almost feel sorry for him. This program is delightfully inappropriate, in so many ways. I Love It!! (don't forget to check out yesterday's weather before going out... Yesterday!)

Priceless. Never laughed so hard. Great for depression.
Priceless. I never laughed so hard. This helped my anxiety and depression more than almost anything along with other Tim and Eric shows. It really made me shake my head and laugh and realize that I'm in my own world too much and need to get out of it. I have severe depression with anxiety and this has an effect like the best drugs but the only difference is as a lasting effect and you know you can come back to it and it won't ever hurt you or mistreat you. I think some things can seem really silly but the older I get the more I realize these guys can help heal I know how silly it sounds but I guess it really worked for me and I just needed to say it.

University of Dr. Brule
Graduates of this school will not only have a degree framed exclusively.by Toads, (as well as a bonus jar of horse butter) but will have earned a lifetime of a new perspectives: -Becoming a father might involve getting your dingus wet -Riding kiddie roller coasters can be frightening and dangerous (not unlike seeing and touching pruppets), but just bring a supply of Toad's tissues to shove up your nostrils to stop any nosebleeds -Be aware that you might become seasick on the dock prior to cruising the high seas (also, a brown leisure suit and a microphone are not always appropriate gear for kayaking) -Women don't always appreciate air kisses while being interviewed (except for Jannie and Sunshine) AND MRUCH, MRUCH MORE!!! (Please note, the curriculum is in the process of certification by Dr.Dravid Dringlehart; credits may not be transferrable) (Buy the DVD and you won't even need to show up for lectures, Hunks!) To enroll, simply send a case of sweet berry wine to Dr. Brule, and you will be contacted with further instructions, dummies.

I'm so glad the Amazon Japan sold this!
I love bizarre humor, and I think Check It Out with Dr. Steve Brule is perfect. The DVDs came in good condition, and I'm thoroughly happy with my purchase.

Is a doozie
The DDB is amazing and the features weren't too bad either, could have been a few more bonus features. It wasn't blu-ray

One of the weirdest, most original and funniest shows of the last 20 years.
This has to be the absolute weirdest (and one of the funniest) show I have ever seen. I chanced upon this gem whilst shopping for Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job DVDs. To describe this show to someone that's never seen it I would describe it as a TV show made by a mentally disturbed man that's on strong medication and other hallucinogenic substances that's sneaked into a public access TV studio at 3:00 AM and cobbled together some badly produced footage on some ancient video equipment. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Star John C, Reilly and co-creators Tim & Eric are producing some of the funniest, zaniest and most original comedy today. If your usual go-to comedy shows is muck like Big Bang Theory, Friends or How I met your Mother, then this show will probably leave you feeling distressed, angry, confused and probably close to crying and in need of a hug and suddenly wanting to vote Republican. But if your into clever, original and creative comedy then this will probably become one of your favorite shows ever.

What ya waiting for ya dang dringus, Bry it now, I dont care.
Dr Brule (alongside Joe Pera) might just be the most beautiful soul ever to come out of America. Truly bizarre, yet perfectly parodied (all that precisely manufactured local cable tv look by Tim Hiedecker and Eric Warehiem) set of tv "show" shorts, with a tragically sad yet beautifully charming host Steve Brule, played perfectly by John C. Reilly. The episodes are a perfect length each, so as not to wear the jokes thin and out staying their welcome. Characters who are seemingly real, VERY odd people from the fringes of society who have been brought in from the street it appears. Thankfully, these people are NOT exploited, but made part of the fun. We're not laughing AT the real person here, but the character they're playing, just like John C. Rielly as Brule. This is absolutely a true gem. And likely quite unknown to us Europeans as perhaps it might get lost in amongst all the tonnes of Adult Swim shows. If you've not seen this before, take a chance on it because it's absolutely amazing.
