Review: Retro-Modern with a gleaming dial - Gorgeous watch! This Tiffany blue dial got me curious as I don't have anything similar to this watch dial color in my collection. Depending on the light, the satin dial can gleam like mint green, powder blue, or turquoise, which is great for casual wear. Based on reviews I've seen, many say the crown is hard to operate due to the lack of knurling, but for me and my oily fingers, it's surprisingly (and thankfully) quite easy to change the time/date and to manually wind the watch (it's an automatic, so I don't really have to wind it that often). I like the design of the crown -- the inscribed "T" and triple rings on the crown perimeter add to the retro-modern styling. There's no exterior bezel, as the chunky yet sleek Hesalite acrylic crystal envelopes the entire top surface of the watch, encasing the etched "Marlin" and dual stripes, giving it that "Space Age" (Jetsons) feel -- bought some Polywatch to buff out minor scratches that's sure to happen eventually. The dish/concave dial with notches/cutouts for the indices lend the Marlin a subtle yet unique appearance, while the cross hair dial detail and simple baton hands make for a clean aesthetic. The Miyota movement is reliable, and is fine for the watch's price range. The stock black strap is okay, comfortable, but not for me. However, the Marlin and this particular dial pairs well with several leather straps, and I'm sure it would be a good match with a Milanese bracelet as well. At 38mm (not 40mm), the Marlin Jet sits well on my 16.5cm (6.5") wrist, without any overhang. Timex is headed towards the right direction with their more recent offerings across their various lines, and am looking forward to the brand's burgeoning renaissance over the next couple of years.

The bracelet was massive - had to remove 4 links to accommodate my 7 1/2" wrist. That's not at all a criticism - just potentially helpful info for those looking to accommodate large wrists. The crown and pushers feel great - definite, positive detents where you'd expect them. Photos don't do justice the shine of the face - it's amazing in person - and the acrylic lens complements the shiny face well by limiting reflections. The size and weight of this watch perfectly match my personal taste, not to mention the attractive color of the face contrasting with the polished case and bracelet. And I love how the color of the pushers and crown match the indices and hands. This is the most expensive Timex I own, but it's a bargain for what you get.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THE WATCH THAT REDEFINED TIMEX!

The Timex Marlin automatic in "Tiffany" blue/teal is an absolute stunner of a watch. It might also be one of the greatest watch bargains of all time. This watch is a real eye catcher with the dial color, polished applied stick markers and highly polished case that appears almost chromed. The dial is concave with dimples at the chapter ring to recess the markers. A domed acrylic crystal covers the edges of the curved dial creating an almost bubble effect that reminds me of a 1950s movie space helmet. It has an automatic movement and a display case back. It has a retro vibe that is really fun. Replace the included NATO strap with a nice black lizard/leather one, and suddenly it's an absolutely amazing dress watch. I've been running it on a winder for a week and that Miyota movement is clocking in a +10/day which is better than ANY Seiko. All this for a watch so cheap you can buy them by the dozen? Thank you Timex.
