Seems good quality build. Easy to use. Physical buttons are very nice to turn pages.The colour screen is nice, but it's significantly darker than a black and white e-reader. In bright sunshine it's great, but anything less and turning the front light on 25% makes a huge difference to the contrast, it brightens the background and doesn't seem to use much power.In landscape mode, some comics are easily readable, others the text is too small. If you zoom in more than fitting the page width, the reader isn't great for comics. It scrolls down with each click, so you miss the top-right panels. With comics you generally want to go left to right, then down. Given that this is a colour e-reader, you'd think they'd provide a reader that was aimed at comics.If it came with a reader more suitable to reading comics at a greater zoom setting, it would be 5 stars. ### ⭐ Disappointing, clunky, buggy, not worth the hype *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 April 2026* I bought the PocketBook Verse Pro Colour after reading positive reviews and watching YouTube recommendations, but my experience has been extremely disappointing.The device feels clunky and unintuitive in daily use. For a modern e-reader at this price point, that is simply not acceptable.The colour E Ink screen was one of the main reasons I bought it, but the overall experience does not live up to the marketing. Between the buggy behaviour, sluggish performance, and repeated need to troubleshoot, it feels like a product that is not fully polished.I also feel somewhat misled by the positive online reviews, because they did not reflect the frustrating real-world experience I have had with it. Instead of feeling like a premium compact e-reader, it feels unreliable and unfinished.I am now looking into alternative brands, and based on my experience, I would advise others to do the same.
