The Flower Expert

Excellent, I formative book

I would not look for any other garden books than the Expert series, they are unfailingly good, one can always find the information one needs and the whole series covers the full range of garden expertise; I abide by and recommend them most highly. Every plant has its own culture and in each of these books you can find out precisely what you are dealing with and gather knowledge as you go; above all they are fun books not overwhelmingly academic but enough to make better gardeners of us all, they have taught me all I know and I can not praise them highly enough

My original print of this book (1980) is dropping to bits! This one is equally as good and in fact has approx. 100 more pages than my old one. I have not had time to go right through the book but it is just like my older copy, easy to read and understand. Looking forward to finding out what is new with the extra 100 pages! It arrived on time, was very well packed and I would recommend this seller to anyone.

Love this book.

I bought this copy for my son who is just into gardening. My original copy was bought in 1984 and has been a great help to me so I thought I would buy a copy for him. The newer copy is second hand and in a very good condition. It is much thicker than my original one. This is a 'Millennium Edition', ie dated 1999. I might even swap and give my son my original copy !!!

I was really pleased with this book. The “expert books” are always good and so when I needed a good book covering perennial plants this was the one for me. I wouldn’t usually buy second hand books but the condition of the ones I have brought through amazon are definitely worth having.

although the purchase was for a second hand book certainly didn't expect or like to receive one with serious tobacco smoke stains and overpowering smell. Used several hand wipes to remover the layer of brown tobacco smoke staining from the front and back covers and the exposed edges of virtually every page had similar brown tinged stains . The smell of tobacco smoke throughout the book was strong and permanent. With modern day attitudes towards smoking prospective customers perhaps should be warned if a book is in this condition or maybe should be advertised "for smokers only" !! Without this issue the book would have been good value for money.

This is a must have for any gardener. Full of interesting flower information and illustrations. A first class print job, accurate colours. Wonderful service by the seller. The book was used but in VG/Ex condition and arrived before scheduled date which was good as it was a birthday gift! The seller even followed up with an email to ensure I was satisfied, a nice touch, thank you. 100%

It continues to be one of the best books on flowers.

Firstly the 2nd hand book is almost in a very good condition, if I talk about the book the book review No author in this world has the knowledge in gardening as much as Dr. D.G Hessayon has . One who can read the whole book twice will surely become The Flower expert. Tremendous amount of knowledge. I have gone through many different types of gardening books available in the market but No one can / will touch the level of Dr. D.G in the field of gardening.
