These plugs, only work with Alexa devices, and are as close to plug-and-play as it gets. When I ordered them, I had the option to set them up before they were delivered. I did, and when I received them and plugged them in, they were ready to go. One of the plugs, I use with a lamp that I turn on/off with voice commands, and the other, I use with a routine I wrote that turns on lights 1/2 hour before sundown, and turns them off 1/2 hour after sunrise. They work with a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and although you might have a newer wireless router, most allow use at this setting. In addition, they are controlled though the Alexa app, and no other software or hubs are required. After several months, they are working without any problems. Good reliable plugs, that are easy set up. I plan on picking up a few more.
