Brut Original Eau De Toilette Spray, 100 ml

It's always a problem writing reviews on perfumes/fragrances because it's so subjective. I started wearing Brut in about 1965 which is when it first came out it was really expensive and it's fragrance just blew me away. During the later 60s it became so popular even young women wore it especially mods there was a cult Following for wearing Brut. Then the company decided to do something with it and employed Henry Cooper the boxer to do adverts on TV splash it on all over how uncouth they called it brut 33 and put it in a plastic bottle instead of a nice glass bottle. It only had 33% of the perfume compared with the original but it was cheap even Wilko sold it and did up until it went bankrupt so it became a bargain basement cheap product for the masses instead of an expensive niche product. This new version in a different bottle it's glass again not plastic I think is very close to much older formulations. They say you get what you pay for well you get a lot more than what you've paid for with this product it is truly astonishing. The fragrance is old school barbers shop style called fougere which is French for fern but ferns don't smell the surrounding area where they grow may have a damp smell but that's all. I don't know how to describe the smell of Brut and when it first came out it was like nothing else, it was unique. There is a modern fragrance that smells very much like it and it is also worn by the current King and it's called penhaligon's sartorial it's very expensive and smells remarkably similar. I think one expression is punches well above its weight. If you want fragrances as a man on the cheap apart from this you could try Old Spice, tabac and Clubman. They all smell completely different from each other and all have remarkably unique complex fragrances.

The product itself is fine however the product arrived from a 3rd party seller damaged and they expected me to pay for the return. Contacted Amazon and refund issued immediately. Well done Amazon. I will not buy from this seller again.

For men of a certain age (Fiftyish?) and their other halves, this fragrance is like a time portal to mentally transport you to the era of great music and terrible fashions. Or was it the other way round?Although it doesn't seem to be as strong as it once was, just like many of us I guess, spray it on (if you spray it all over like Ennery suggested it will sting though.) and be transported back in time. Close your eyes and remember driving around in your Ford Cortina, when 4 Star leaded was 75p a gallon and a bottle of Pils lager was incredibly sophisticated and chicken Kiev wasn't invented yet.If a younger person queries why you smell so sweet with almost sickly fragrance overtones, just front them out and pretend you are being ironic by wearing Brut. Then carry on secretly loving it...

Amazing smell.I have Creed, Halfeti, Tom Fords… this gets as many complimentsTop tip - this is the only aftershave I advise to spray on clothes, it lasts much longer

If like me you can really remember "Brut" from back in Skinhead days..then this Doesn't make the grade I have to say.I've still got some in a none spray bottle & that's on the mark.

Zapach ponadczasowy, taki jaki pamiętam. Wiadomo, że nie jest trwały jak EDP, ale za tą cenę jest bardzo dobrze.
