Now June 16, 2019 and this ice maker seems to be dead. Buttons won’t turn it on at all. Have unplugged and plugged it back in. The little flashing light for power flashes like it normally does when off but it won’t turn on. Don’t know if I would recommend for something that lasts less than I year. I love having ice and don’t have a maker in my freezer but I don’t know if I’ll buy another brand after this.One star docked for the water pump which sometimes makes a horrible noise. I think this might happen when the water level gets too low and it sucks air into the pump instead of turning off due to low water. So maybe this is one star off for the water level sensor instead of the pump.Despite that, we’ve been using this thing for 3 months almost daily and we love it. I hate making ice in trays and my kids love eating ice so this has been a well loved purchase by all of us. Iced tea and water any time because this makes the first batch quickly.I do often dump the ice basket into my freezer ice box, where the pieces of ice all get frozen together. Quick work with a butter knife hacking at the ice breaks them all up and they’re ready to be used.I have found that the large ice setting produces ice that is so large they stick to each other while being formed and then they get stuck when it’s trying to push them into the basket. So we keep it on small size and they’re large enough for us.Would definitely purchase again. It’s very handy for going camping and produces enough ice to put in our beverages or to make the occasion ice pack. My overall review and opinion has not changed (see original below)I find it odd that the manufacturer offered to refund the purchase price in exchange for a five star review and to remove any negative comments. I have opted not to do that.We purchased this ice maker to take in our RV. I just received it, so I cannot comment on its durability, but it’s very easy to use. I’ve had it plugged in and working for 24 hours and it produces ice quickly.I suggest running at least one gallon of water through it and throwing out the ice before using the ice for consumption. It takes a little while for that plastic taste to work it’s way out.The machine is a bit too loud to keep plugged in and operating all day and all night in the RV. The constant hum of the motor is just loud enough to be annoying. It’s much louder than your average home appliance but it will be great for our purposes. We can run it while we are busy, outside, while we are camping and can fill the ice bins in our freezer inside the camper. I got addicted, my $2,500 fridge that makes ice tasting like a $10.00 freezer was a thing of the past. Now I make ice in the Iseler and freeze for a few minutes till filling the ice maker (which I turned off) in the fridge. Couldn't be happier till one stopped working. Wrote support and they blew me away, no problem sorry that our unit stopped functioning there is a brand new one on the way!!! That is service way beyond the unfortunate norm now a days. Iseler to me is a throw back to when quality and service actually meant something. If you never heard of them you will, If you do not have one BUY ONE!!! Put it in the man cave, garage, take it in the yard for a barbecue.
