What is the country of origin for this Wix oil filter?

China. Its not a regular wix 51348 gold filter. They still make filters in US. You can get a wix 51348 gold filter made in the USA from rock auto. Theyre under $6. This is over $9 for the cheaper chinese made version. Side by side the two filters ate visibly different. The box is different size as well.

If synthetic oil that has Teflon as a part of the part that makes the oil more protective for your engine,do these filters eliminate or trap the good.

No. Oil filters do not trap any components that make up the oil, but rather trap particles of dirt and metal at a microscopic level. I have been using Wix on my personal cars as well as drag racing engines for over 50 years without 1 failure due to impurity's in the oiling system. I have "blown up" a few over the years, but not from dirty oil. Keep it changed! S/R1
