Kill Team: Starter Set (2024)

I recently picked up the Kill Team Starter Set (2024), and it’s an excellent entry point into Warhammer’s skirmish-level game system. The box is packed with value: two complete teams, a set of modular terrain, a double-sided game board, core rulebook, and all the dice, tokens, and rulers needed to play right out of the box. For anyone curious about Kill Team or Warhammer in general, this is a very approachable way to get started. Miniatures & Assembly: The kit includes two full kill teams—each with plenty of character and detail. The models are push-fit, but I’d recommend using a small amount of plastic glue for durability. Even without glue, they go together cleanly, with minimal gaps. The level of sculpting detail is superb, typical of Games Workshop, and offers a great canvas for painting. Gameplay: Kill Team shines because it balances quick, tactical gameplay with narrative depth. The rulebook included here is a condensed version of the core rules, so new players won’t feel overwhelmed. Games are fast-paced, usually lasting under an hour, which makes it perfect for casual sessions or introducing friends. The included terrain adds tactical interest and can be expanded later with more scenery. Painting Hints (with Vallejo paints): For those new to painting, Vallejo paints are an excellent choice thanks to their smooth consistency and wide range of colours. Here are a few tips I found useful while working on these teams: Priming: I used Vallejo Surface Primer (Black or Grey) applied with an airbrush, but it also works well brushed on. A black primer is forgiving for beginners and helps create natural shadows. Basecoats: Vallejo Model Color or Game Color ranges provide great coverage. For armour plates, colours like Game Color Gunmetal or Model Color German Grey work well. Apply thin coats to preserve the sculpt’s detail. Shading: Vallejo Game Washes are ideal for adding depth. For metallics, a wash of Game Wash Black settles into recesses, while Umber Wash adds warmth to leathers and pouches. Layering & Highlights: Build up layers gradually with slightly lighter tones. For example, highlight red armour panels with Game Color Bloody Red mixed with a little Orange Fire. Drybrushing with a lighter tone is also an easy way to pick out raised details. Details: Vallejo’s Model Color Ivory or Off-White is perfect for picking out lenses, purity seals, and parchment. For skin, Model Color Basic Skin Tone layered with Flat Flesh and a sepia wash gives a natural finish. Varnish: Once painted, protect your miniatures with Vallejo Polyurethane Matte Varnish to prevent chipping during games. Overall Impression: This starter set succeeds in being both accessible and rewarding. The models are fun to build and paint, the rules are streamlined for quick learning, and the included terrain makes games feel cinematic straight away. Combined with Vallejo’s user-friendly paint range, it’s a hobby package that encourages both gaming and creativity. Whether you’re completely new to Warhammer or returning to the hobby, the Kill Team Starter Set (2024) is a fantastic way to dive in. Highly recommended.

Amazing kit to get you started in Kill Team, played this with a buddy and we finished on a perfect draw after a proper good fight to it is very well balanced. It comes with everything you need to get you going and for having hours of fun. It is worth saying that you can play these teams in a lot of different ways so there are endless possibilities. Overall Quality - 5/5 Ease of building - 4/5 Balance in the box - Perfect!

Item as described, it was the last starter set and it was all ok, one miniature had a peg broken, but that is not the fault of the seller, it is GW not packing these sprues properly. Arrived next day as per prime. All good, thx! You can trust the seller!

The box isn't going to last 5 minutes, I would have been happy to pay extra for a box with a lid. Other than that, super value.

I have been into 40k for well over 30 years, and recently decided to see what the Kill Team fuss was about after a friend said they were getting back into the hobby. This starter set has everything you need to start playing, and the minis are exceptionally high quality, as expected from GW. The price of this starter set is, for GW, affordable in my view and is fantastic value for new and experienced gamers alike. Just don’t make a school boy error like I did and accidentally spill Tamiya extra thin all over your mini while building. Although being a plague marine, a bit of weathering will cover it up!

Essa caixa vem com todo o necessário pra aprender o jogo e jogar casualmente: 2 kill teams completos, 10 D6, 1 tabuleiro de chão, 1 conjunto de terrenos simples em MDF, tokens variados e 1 livro de tutorial que ensina com exemplos bem didáticos as regras gerais. Contudo, caso você pretenda jogar competitivamente (em campeonato por exemplo), você precisará de outros itens: o manual completo (vendido à parte), cartas utilizadas em algumas etapas do jogo (a maioria disponibilizada gratuitamente) e regras específicas de cada kill team (disponibilizadas gratuitamente).

Llegó completo pero algo dañada la caja y algunas cosas del interior nada grave pero por el costo uno espera que llegue bien de hay en fuera lo recomiendo

The box is practically worth it itself just for the death guard units that are included, One being a previously Japan only release and the other ones being from the blind boxes. They all tend to sell for $17+ on eBay. ($17x7 =$119) These models are especially well sculpted and really stand out. I'm sure the space Marines are the same way but... They're just space Marines at the end of the day. The death card units each have their own unique nurgling or bloatfly on the base. The models are push to fit which is great for beginners. This box is a relatively cheap way to get into kill team.
