They are the "fat" original trisonics, I'm not sure if they are rewound or have the polarity switched like the Red Special. Warm rich mid-tone sound, a lot will depend on the phase options and combinations you use. They sound like fatter resomatics, kind of half way between a single coil and a humbucker. You can get the neck and middle to humbuck with the right switching options. Hope this helps.
