Portable Pocket and Hunting Knife Sharpener, WSGPS-W

This is compact, and works excellently. My favorite aspects of it are the built in angle guides, and how sharp my knife gets with it. I’ll use this for about 10-15 strokes per side on coarse and 10-15 strokes on the rod, cutting into the sharpener of course, then I strop a little bit on my leather sheath. Don’t have a leather sheath? Use anything! You can strop on basically anything soft/smooth. A shoe, a bike seat, piece of paper, a 2x4. Whatever. Awesome little product for the truck, tackle box, hiking bag, anything it’s so small and lightweight. Holding it is a bit hard on the wrist as your “thumb muscle” can’t rise above the plane of the blade. So you have to grip it tough with just fingertips. I’ve included a photo of where I was able to shave my arm after using it.

This is the best method to sharpen because you can pick your angle and hone it in! I’ve gotten some great sharp edges compared to a pull through sharpener. Great quality and great value for what I need. Easy to use.

This sharpener offers a 320 grit sharpening steel and a ceramic sharpening rod with built-in angle guides for a 20-degree blade. This product works fine for touching up pocket or utility knives, but consider another Work Sharp product with a lot more utility and sharpening features. I purchased both and found the Work Sharp Guided Field Sharpener Travel Knife Sharpening Tool to be much more useful. It costs more, but you get two different grit sharpening steels, four different ceramic sharpening rods and a small leather pad for stropping. It's not much larger than this pocket sharpener but has a lot more useful sharpening features.

Worksharp Pocket Knife Sharpener Very lightweight and well made. Easy to carry. Prior to using this sharpener, I had only used pull-through style sharpeners. So with zero experience using this type of sharpener, I was able to get a blade much sharper than the factory edge. Extremely sharp, in fact. It only took a minute or 2 to get the hang of the motion. I did watch some instructional videos on knife sharpening prior to using this the first time. Besides the fact that I cut myself with a machete I was sharpening, I've had no problems at all with this tool. (Which is a testament to how well the sharpener works. This machete wouldn't have cut me had I not sharpened it before it touched my skin.) I do recommend using a protective glove on the hand you're holding the sharpener with 😀 With the course diamond grit side I was able to put a convex grind on an unsharpened part of a carbon steel blade. It took a few minutes and some elbow grease, but got it done. Not as beautiful as some belt sanded blades, but definitely functional. It's super easy and quick to put a very sharp edge back on a lightly used, slightly dull blade with this tool. I'm really enjoying using the sharpener. And getting better at it with each use. I'm quite confident and able to get a razor sharp edge on a knife after only 3 days and a couple hours total time of use.

Very helpful product to have can be used to put a good sharp edge on your pocket Knives and fix blade Knives. Mine has came in very useful. I do recommend this knife to throw in the glove box on the goal for camping, hunting camp.

Perfect to sharpen my Victorinox pocket knives especially my Victorinox Mini Champ.

Quickly put a razor edge on a few of my knives. Very intuitive and portable. I will be ordering more of these as gifts and for tool bags, tackle box, camping, and bug out kits. Another great product from the folks at Work Sharp! Update 8/20/2019 - If you’re looking for a great sharpener for general purpose camping/work knives and tools, this is great for the money. If you want something that puts a “bragging rights” super edge on your Benchmade knife, you might want to use something else (although this would be a good starting sharpener to repair the angle). RE the comments about the diamond side being too rough, once you use it a few times, it gets better. The roughness helps get the blade in shape fast (which is what you’d want in a work or camping scenario). I also don’t see what the concern is about not being able to rotate the ceramic side, and wonder what the heck folks are doing to this thing if they’re getting flat spots on the ceramic rod. I’ve been using the heck out of mine and haven’t had any issues at all with the ceramic rod or diamond surface. Both sides clean up nicely by rubbing some Dawn dish soap all over, then rinsing in hot water and drying with a towel. For the money, this is an awesome sharpener.

Nice little quick sharpener. It’s not going to give a perfect edge but if it in the field it’s better that nothing.

Best sharpener ever great product small size can put it in your pocket or bag. Good sturdy material that seems to last great value for money would recommend never seen knifes so sharp easy to use

El afilado de cuchillos es de lo mas sencillo y no solo funciona con cuchillo y navajas de campo sino también para cuchillos de cocina. Particularmente prefiero este tipo de afiladores que aquellos que desgastan el metal.

All the Work Sharp products that I have it works as described. Ease of use for anyone not used to sharpening by using the angle that is preset on the sharpener. I added this to my hunting kit so that I would have a reliable sharpener should I need it in the field.
