I am glad I got this lid as its A LOT better than the Morphy Richards one. The 2 best things about it are its much quieter, but its also a lot less sensitive (in a good way) so now it doesnt flip open every time I walk past the bin, but instead opens when intended, when I am in front of it ready to chuck something in.If there was a black version or even brushed silver version I would have ordered that over this one personally, as this will show waterspots, dirt and scratches super easily. BTW in case you are wondering, this is a chrome painted plastic, not metallic lid bin, so whilst it wont rust, it also looks a little on the cheap side. ### ⭐⭐ Not durable *by G***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 March 2019* I am disappointed to write this review but feel compelled to having encountered the following problem. Firstly, the bin looks great, it pretty lightweight and, given it is slim, fits in our space really well. Before we purchased it, we did see a number of reviews that said the open/close mechanisms were not very durable and would often break. We did go on to purchase the bin, and had it a number of months before the little inside clips did break. We thought wear and tear so purchased a replacement lid. However, after about 6 weeks the same little clasps snapped off. Upon contacting the company I was asked to send photographs and was subsequently told that these mechanisms cannot break unless the bin has been mishandled or operated incorrectly. Whilst I appreciate that the company cannot know whether we have misused the bin, I can assure the bin was used correctly - opening and closing by the sensor only and not by hand. In my opinion the two little plastic clasps that cover the end part of the hinge are only light plastic and over time these snap. Once one snaps, the others follow as the bin lid begins to wobble. I did go back to the company to say this however they were not willing to accept this and replace our lid. I am sure if more durable plastic or material was used the company would have less issues with this. It would be an excellent product otherwise but the replacement lids are too expensive to be replacing regularly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bin lid replacement *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 December 2019* These bins are great but after a while the sensor in the lid starts to malfunction and so you need either a new bin or one of these lids. The lids are quite expensive at around half the price of the bin but better than a ehole new bin.
