I have an elevated deck off my kitchen and have several feeders on that deck. I had raccoons breaking my feeders and squirrels eating all the food and throwing seed everywhere. I installed these on all 3 posts for my deck high enough to not hit your head and low enough that they couldn't make the leap to the joists. It took about 20 minutes to install all 3. The little buggers _still_ got onto the deck! One serious tree trim later and my problem was solved. Stove pipe would have been cheaper, but I liked the look of these far better. Given the choice to do it all over again, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I wanted the durability of metal so squirrels would not just chew their way through it on the way to the birdfeeder, but I could only find metal baffles made to fit a 4" post. My birdfeeder happens to be mounted on the "stump" of a skinny tree that is only 3.5 x 3.5". I used 2 of the screws that come with the baffle and then I added some scrap wood to build up the diameter where the other 2 would be attached and I just substituted 2 longer screws. It's not perfect, but it looks like it will do the job!

This squirt baffle is exactly what we weee looking for and it does the job!

I had a gazebo bird feeder that squirrels destroyed the wooden feet holding the center plastic tube that holds and distributes food out of the bottom. I made new feet for it and put it back up with one of these baffles to protect it. No more problems. I bought a second one to keep squirrels out of my finch and suet feeders. So far so good.
